Come on Benny you could probably pick out at least 10-12 players from their squad who would get into our team. Sure there are plenty of egos there, but they are still talented players who could improve most teams.

My maths make that 42 mil ish spend maybe rising to 49 mil - still nowhere near 75 mil ?!?!

+ January siginings nearer 100m

Really pleased that we are now one of the big players, and the pwners have defo allowed theire actions to spk louder than words.

Lets enjoy it and hpe that these and 'other' signings propell us back to where we belong.. we are gonna be great !

Spending is great and a breathe of fresh air. Our squad however, and subsequent wage bill, is far too big at the moment and needs trimming.

It is time now for Comolli to start selling players excess to needs.

Which 10-12 players would you pick then ?

I would pick two - Johnson and Tevez ( he is leaving anyway )

one play right another play left.
we have Hendo and Kuyt who can play right and a big fat zero who can play left until Downing.

so why compare both players when there is no chance we will sign Young when we signed Hendo, and we need Downing.

Actually they are both naturally left wingers.  The difference is that Downing can also play on the right, so Young played on the left because he's not very good on the right and Downing mainly played on the right.

Actually they arent both naturally left wingers - Young is naturally a right winger/striker .

Hoenstly I think any of these lot could make a difference to our team. Granted some of these lot are cun.ts but just pointing out that in terms of ability they could offer something.

Kompany
Clichey
Savic
Richards
Adam Johnson
Michael Johnson
De jong
Silva
Toure (Yaya)
Adebayor
Balotelli
Dzeko
Tevez

Kompany maybe .But a lot of that list are prima donna's - players like Balotelli and Dzeko have done nothing to justify their price tags .

Tevez and Toure are not younge English lads

Agreed, Toure and Tevez are actually Man City's best players.

Actually they arent both naturally left wingers - Young is naturally a right winger/striker .

Downing was pushed to the right because Young was played the left.  When he played at Watford the manager played him on the right a little bit, and for manure he played a few minutes on the right but that's because they are just making room for him.

He prefers the left.  That's why Downing played on the right so often last season.

"Also, Ashley Young, although he can play on both flanks, prefers to play on the left wings, as he has done so often for Aston Villa. This again attributes to the fact that he is an inside-out winger who likes to cut-in to the right."

Tevez and Silva for me, with Kompany, Y.Toure then De Jong to follow... I also expect Dzeko to have a big season and if Mancini can get Balotelli to curb his excitement a little then he could prove to be one hell of a player... He showed glimpses last season but injuries and suspensions meant he was never going to get recognition for the goals and performances in his limited appearances..

No surprises it's all the foriegn lads from Ace - every time they looked dangerous was when A Johnson came onto the pitch - he changed the game for them - he made things happen for them - would take Johnson before any off those bar Tevez .

Nothing wrong with foreign lads mate. Some of our best players in recent years have been foreign. And whilst some of them may not have shined for City they still came some way to establish a reputation to earn a move there. I don't rate Mancini 1 bit and think he isn't using that squad to it's potential, fortunately for us.

Adam Johnson is a great young player, but to say he is better than Yaya Toure or David Silva is laughable

Tevez, Silva, Johnson and Ya ya Toure. In that order. The rest are good, some very special, but they would not fit in here. Kompany looks good because he get surrounded with players who have what he does not, De Jong is an animal and I dont want him littering up our club. Milner has the pace of an arthritic slug and Barry is past it.
