1. Risk playing a half-hearted player which can affect team spirit
2. Keep him as a sub but his wages are probably gonna hurt us
3. Sell him which is the best for us but you first need to find a buyer
4. Failing of which, you loan him out in view to sell him a year later... Which will free up some wages for new signings

Even though we want 3 , it's not as easy as it sounds since everybody knows that he's injury prone. So that leaves us 4 as the next best option...

Agree with this, good post mate.

Its just hugely frustrating that we will probably end up going for free or next to nothing.
Some bad errors by both our previous managers by the looks of things.

Agreed. The point is not a British-only policy, it is signing players who have proven premiership calibre. In our case they happen to be British.

I have also considered that Kenny might have already sat down and talked with Aquilani and that the player had let it known to KK that he does want to play in the EPL.

Yeah I think it has more to do with the player being unhappy here. To be fair he was treated like :censored: here.

I see spearing has rejected a loan move to Wolves as well. TBH I would rather keep Auilani over Spearing

bit of a mess, if he doesnt want to be here but no1 is willing to buy him, and he doesnt want a loan move, then we r beat in all ways. only other thing would be to tear up his contract, meaning he can go to wherever he feels and we save the rest of his contract on wages, its not the best but makes it better for all involved. he gets the move, we get rid of someone who doesnt wanna be here and we also save a bit of money.

I agree but then you create a whole other scenario. We paid £20 million for AA (or thereabouts) and no Italian club is gonna go near him for that price. So, if we relinquish and let him go for free to save on wages, then effectively we're being held to ransom. Other clubs will start thinking "if we just hold out they may release him for free" whenever there is interest in a player of ours.
Okay, you may think, a bit far fetched but this quandary could arise

Would like to see him pulling some strings in midfield for us, I think the lad has class he just needs to shine.

He hasn't been given the chance hopefully now he can show us what the club paid for.

i agree aquaman over spearing anyday.

if these players dont feature in kk's plans then they should be sat down and told to take the option they are presented with.spearing to wolves is a great move for the lad and im surprised he turned it down.
in a way im happy to see aqua turned down another loan deal in favour of a permanent move as he realises he will be back in this situation next year again.

I think this is probably good news (assuming it doesn't affect us as we strengthen our backline).

However, remember when Doni's transfer collapsed? The end of the window is still a way off, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more twists and turns before it is all over...

To be honest I dont blame the lad. This is his career as well after all and he cant want another season of wondering where he will be next. He has a family to consider as well.

I really dont see how we cant find a place for him. He is a talented player with something to offer. If we cant sell him, and he does not want a loan... use him ffs!
