Well, we have put ourselves in a terrible situation getting 10 cms. Everyone knows we have to get rid of some and it will be way under their value...

If he secretly wants to go, then he should sit down with KK and tell him he wants to leave. Then by all means let Aquilani move providing a deal is reached. Otherwise this rumoured "intercourse" between between his agent & the news websites is driving me mad.

I think his wages are the stumbling block. When Rafa signed him, he gave him a ridiculous wage. Liverpool obviously feel its too much for what they are getting, Juventus also felt the same, and if he goes on loan to Fiorentina, then I fear the same thing will happen.

In answer to your question, no, you have to look at the people who gave him the contract in the first place.

We must be one of the only clubs in England to loan out players in the 20 million pound range, Man city being the only other club I can think of. Surely there are only 2 options in this situation, play or sell.

You loan out the academy player's to gain experience but not higher profile, potential first 11 players. Let's face it, Aquaman looked a hell of a lot better than some of his team mates in midfield in the preseason games. A playmaker for sure.

I don't want to end up in December regreting not keeping him, even as a sub. Please keep him KK!

kk must hate the lad or something because to let him out on another year loan doesnt make sense.
poulsen, cole and jovanovich have been useless for us,maxi is average and anonymous for most of the season.shelvey needs more experience.spearing is limited and not at all creative and henderson is sure to start ahead of them every time.
lucas, adam, merieles, gerrard, downing and henderson are the best of em and will surely be the core of the midfield but we still lack quality cover for a 4 man midfield.
id be happy to see him hang around tbh but if he does go then sell or trade rather than loan him out again.

I dont think its a case of Kenny hating him. I really do think its a case of wages. The owners have said the wage bill is ridiculous, and Kenny himself has seen for himself what each player has to offer. Aquilani, put simply, is overpaid for what he offers.

The years of the H/G reign of terror are still being felt.  Aquilani, however you rate his skill, has been an unmitigated disaster for the club.  Another question: If he's so good, why hasn't a decent club gone in for him (to buy)?

Well, I for one is very unimpressed with us shelling out 25 million on Henderson and Adam.

We had Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Aqualiani already at the club and I would say that was enough in quality to get us by.

We needed desperatly a new CB and LB and a backup striker before even thinking about getting more CMs.

Yes, KK improved us considerably when he arrived but the british love fest is not something I agree on on at all.

We will now probably get peanuts now for Aquilani and Meireles now since KK wants to only go for overpriced english players....

Well, signing lots of foreign players over the years hasn't really worked out all the time either.  You don't really get the same loyalty from them.  See Torres, Mascherano, Tevez, Ronaldo.  I even get the feeling that Aqua is desperate to receive an offer from Italy.

Its also been a long time since we've focused entirely on the PL.  So what Kenny is doing is buying players that have done well in this league already and will hopefully do well for us.

I guess only time will tell whether these new signings/british spine is a good or bad thing.

Don't you people ever consider that Kenny might have already sat down and talked with Aquilani and that the player had let it known to KK that he doesn't want to play in the EPL? In which case we can...

1. Risk playing a half-hearted player which can affect team spirit
2. Keep him as a sub but his wages are probably gonna hurt us
3. Sell him which is the best for us but you first need to find a buyer
4. Failing of which, you loan him out in view to sell him a year later... Which will free up some wages for new signings

Even though we want 3 , it's not as easy as it sounds since everybody knows that he's injury prone. So that leaves us 4 as the next best option...

Well, that not true though is it?

08/09 we finished 2nd just a few points off the top with Carra and Gerrard only.

There is only one thing that matters, quality, and not where they are born. Just a myth from the 70's that a team full of british players is the way to go.

How many did Arsenal have when they won lately?
Or Chelsea?

CM was not a position we really needed strenghtening and we would had been fine with what we had.

Way better to have gotten Baines and Hangeland instead...

Good point, that is also how I see this.

It is clear that KK wants players to "buy in" to the Liverpool Way.  It doesn't matter where you come from, but we seem to have our fair share mercenaries atm and this was addressed when KK took over in January when he kept talking about respect for the club and its history.  The club was at an all time low when KK took over and the attitudes of the some of the players are what has kept them out of the team, not skill level.  This is why Jova isn't getting a look in and Aqua will be shipped.
