My maths make that 42 mil ish spend maybe rising to 49 mil - still nowhere near 75 mil ?!?!

anyways that issue aside I'm just going to echo MH's sentiments and say its nice to be investing in the squad and not worrying about the accounts. It was badly needed this summer, still more areas to address but it's going to be a case of years I reckon

These new owners have done EVERYTHING right so far and we've been able to do things 'the Liverpool way', from keeping the press guessing our next transfer to reviving the fan's hopes and dreams again.
I wouldn't say we are overspending our squad needed significant investment - that was as plain as the nose on your face. Are the players we're signing worth the cash? As of yet nobody knows the answer but I'm sure people are able to make educated guesses whether they are or not. The other day another poster and I had a ''too & throw'' over the signing of Charlie Adam. FWIW I think he has represented good value for money over our other signings. I honestly don't know too much about Henderson to be honest, most neutrals think we've done a 'Citeh' with him and paid over the odds, others like Rawk-ites believe he's the best thing since sliced watermelon. I don't know, I can't say but it is a lot of money and we've been here before with Keane and Aqulliani - albeit not with Kenny. We've also bought some gems like Torres and Suarez at similar prices so it swings in roundabouts. Downing, personally I'm not 'over the moon' about always remember him a Boro being a very ordinary and limited player - even when there was all the hype about him.
I did read an article the other day re Kenny and his signings at LFC, Blackburn and Newcastle and it highlighted that when Kenny generally speaking brought British talent he got fantastic results. I think Ripley and Wilcox at Blackburn (not sure if he bought them in) got so much out of them along with Shearer and Sutton. We all know what he achieved at Liverpool in the 80's. At Newcastle he brought a mixture of foreign and British talent and got mixed results from it.
So Kenny has a good track record getting the best out of British. Also along with the FIFA rules being implemented and our owner's philosophy in recruiting young talent I think it plays into Kenny's hands and to his strengths. If there is one person that can turn players like Downing and Henderson from average and potential (respectively) to important and dependable players Kenny Kan.
