it's quite possible that we will have to pay slightly more for Cissoko as Porto remain eligible to receive 20% of any future transfer fee. but either way, i rather see him than Enrique, as i find the latter rather average and Cissoko has more re-sale value anyway.

Hmm cant say I'm thrilled, he falls into the 'average' category if you ask me.

Will he fly straight out to China or stay here until the team gets back from the tour?

I'd think Kenny would want him out with the team so that he can start getting to know everybody.

Ithink he's the type of player who can help us get into the top four and will end up a squad player once we are back in the CL.  Another "Strength in depth" signing IMO.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I know same here but somehow Kenny always gets the best out of player, I remember Stuart Ripley playing on the wing for Kenny for Blackburn when they won the prem and he had a blinder of a season and he was a sh!t player.

I still rate Downing and I think he's a player that would be a real assist to the current squad we have- and that's what's most important- that we're getting the right players that will cause for an easy transformation at the club.  If we get players that don't easily fit into the squad than we end up like city where it takes 6 months for the squad to finally start playing well together.

Downing will be with us this year because bottom line he wants the move. Its Villas Torres and you are snookered really. Cost us over the odds but seems they are prepared to go to any lengths for the players they are serious about and I think Downing is one of those. Get him in and then its a left back and if maybe a centre half.

lets see for tomorrow:

The Metro reckon Joe Cole could go to Hamburg - makes sense with Arnesen there

They also reckon Arsenal are ahead of us for Downing - based on whats here I dont think so

Caughtoffside reckon we're planning a bid for Leighton Baines - also great if true

All b0llocks :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
