I get what they are doing, I understand they inherited a mess, but what I hope they understand is that down the lines some big money will need to be pumped in if we are going to get back on top. A working business model will keep you solvent and out of the finance headlines but it wont win you this league and its when that hits home I will be interested to see if NESV stay with it or flog the club on at a profit.

I'm sure they understand that incredible investment in players will be needed.  Man City seem to have set the benchmark in some people's views on what is needed to lure elite players to a club.  LFC WILL NOT DO THAT.  We will not compromise the good of the club in a realistic financial posistion just to appease some impatient supporters.  They will spend money when it makes sense.  Responsibly.

I'm of the belief that the immediate goal is to get into the Champions League, thus the need to spend astronomically to lure players in will not be needed.

I think some people are overstating how difficult it will be to get back into the top four.  It took the worst start to a season in half a century to tank our season last year, yet we were still not completely out of it with about 4 games left to play.  Without the distraction of Europe this coming season, less wear and tear on the players, I think we've got a likely chance of finishing top four with the squad as is, let alone if we get a few more players in.  Seeing the panic button being pressed on the first official day of the international transfer season IMO is going a bit overboard.

I have to agree with FSG.  Patience.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Patience.  Young players.  The future.  Don't panic.

All just words.  I really hope these guys are the real deal but until I see evidence of serious investment in the playing staff or a new stadium then the jury's still out on these guys.  We spent a lot in January but the net spend was basically zero.  We've paid a reported 16 million for Henderson, so far that's their only real net spend.

From various reports it seems they're fixated on the wage bill they've inherited.  I'd be p!ssed off too when you see Jovanovic on 120k and Cole on 100k both warming the bench and having almost no impact on our performances last season.  Those two along with Ngog, Poulsen and Konchesky need to go.  Question marks also surround the futures of Meireles, Aquilani and Maxi - those three are decent but replaceable.  Very difficult to move players like this on at the moment when they're on wages like they are, so Fenway need to take it on the chin and try and improve the squad anyway, or else we're talking a very slow rebuilding process if it's a one-in one-out policy on transfers they're operating.

I hope I'm wrong, but after the previous regime you can't help but worry until there's evidence that they're going to put their money where their mouths are.

Jovanovic on 120k a week? You sure?
Thought he was on about half that. In that case we really need to offload a few before we spend big again.
Things have to be done right, they wasnt in the past and thats how we ended up in this mess. There wont be much of a transfer kitty in coming seasons if we are losing that kinda money every week paying players wages who shouldnt be anywhere near the club.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,
Of stupid fools who stand in line......  Like..

You never really know for sure mate but I've read he's on 120k a week for his first year as his signing on fee was built into his wages.  Apparently his weekly wage drops from this coming season as the signing on fee will be paid off.

i agree.
the pain im feeling over the thoughts of another rebuilding plan when so many before have failed.we came close in 08 but have lost several players since then and now it feels like were back at the post souness stage.
i do trust fsg in that they are 1000 times better than the previous regime and have without doubt shown themselves to be shrewd businessmen in maximising revenues but appear similar when it comes to spending.
we have so much muck to shift at the min and it seems like we are doing it with a teaspoon.

Can't blame people for being sceptical after the way we've been run since 1992. Trust is earned.

Actually its the exact opposite. Trust is not earnest. You trust someone when there is no evidence to support their ways.

Respect is earnt
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
