I find it funny that its on the bbc news today

bbc news spiders

I would say over the last two years we have killed about 1000 of them, on the news site it says "The pest control team used specialised insecticides not available to the public to deal with the nest."

this is how i delt with them...wd40 to slow them down and then.........................

I've got one underneath our elevated deck that is alot like the one in the last pic you posted.  I actually took it in during hurricane Irene in my suns Firefly catcher thing.  I put some grass in it and some other bugs.  I think it's awesome.

BTW Lakes.  Your next project had better be to fix the gate to the walkway, it's looking a bit Ghetto Fabulous :p

lol thats done now mate, my next job it taking down the old shed and making a new one but thats for next summer.
In the mean time all the spiders can have a rest under it away from me.

the garden is getting there, jst got to paint the wall at the bottom and put some plants in togrow over it.

but as you can tell not all the spiders have gone from the back garden, this is the arch we have to walk inder to go out of the new back gate....lots of webs lol

the funnything is that it might not look it but so much time has been taken in getting the garden to a state that anything can grow in it lol
but this summer we had carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, onions and runner beans, radishes and beetroot.

and the garden looed like this when we moved in and did not start work onit untill this summer lol

There was actually an article on BBC News yesterday about a nest of false widow spiders found somewhere in Buckinghamshire. You should email in your pics Lakes, think you might get some coverage. :D
