How did they advise to get rid of them? Are your neighbours having the same issue?
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Surely it's just a case of finding a suitable means of extermination (brute force, chemicals, fire etc..), putting on some protective gear, locating their nest sites and then doing the deed. If you're reluctant to kill them for religious or other reasons, simply collect them all in a sealed box and dispose of them in a spider friendly way.

I am well made up, just got a call from NHM, they loved my photos and told me they did not have any photos like this (killing a Stagbeetle).
i asked about how to kill the spiders but was told that i better not as i could kill the stagbeetles aswell and that would make a lot of unhappy people and i could get done for this.
have been told to move all dead wood from my garden(done that last year). have been asked to get some on film and they would love to see film of the spider killing a stag beetle.

Was also told that if they become a big problem to call them back and they will put me onto an expert who would come and remove them (not sure if thats the spiders or the stag beetle they will remove).

tonight at 9pm my street are all coming out of their home to kill the spiders.
over the last week they have them made there way into our homes and bedrooms.
with a bit of luck this will be the end of the problem for this summer.

But if they are in your homes, shouldn't you get them first?  Just sayin.

New conspiracy theory.  Your neighbors from the cesspool thread have brought all these spiders to your neighborhood to try to flush you into their grasps.  Be wary,   :p

Can't you call pest control in to exterminate these beasties?

It's worth doing it though, there is clearly an infestation where you live and the longer you leave it the worse it will get. Get the entire street or neighbourhood cleaned up, these aren't even native spiders, so they are best destroyed.

Nah, don't waste your money on a silly idea like that. Spiders are nimble as and you'll never catch them all. Just light a few fires and they'll soon be gone. Get everyone out the house first of course  :D
