oh if its on Wiki it must be true, we can all print out pros and cons, its how it affected you is the only way you can explain. my family wasnt really rich, dad had his own business, stay at home mum, but we were better under the tories, and felt a lot safer

eg: from time magazine

She was the catalyst who set in motion a series of interconnected events that gave a revolutionary twist to the century's last two decades and helped mankind end the millennium on a note of hope and confidence. The triumph of capitalism, the almost universal acceptance of the market as indispensable to prosperity, the collapse of Soviet imperialism, the downsizing of the state on nearly every continent and in almost every country in the world — Margaret Thatcher played a part in all those transformations, and it is not easy to see how any would have occurred without her. Champion of free minds and markets, she helped topple the welfare state and make the world safer for capitalism and mankind.

It's got the facts there Dawson, not the emotions. It's all pretty much spot on. It's a bit of an overview on her reign domestically and during the recession.

Well I'm AT work...

what it coems down to is I think.. she did a lot for the majority of people, but nothing for the minority.. hence the hatred by the ones who hate, and the meh from those who didnt hate.

She did do stuff for the poorer on the whole, and her work on the unions was genius, but for the ones she didnt care about, she was a witch, so i feel what people are saying. But me here, selfishly, i think she was a neccesary evil.

Truth be known the mess the labour government left the economy in after years of mismanagrement has left us needing another Maggie to come in with monetorist policies to turn us round again before we become another Greece, Portugal, Ireland.

People like Thatcher and Churchill were products of their environments.

agreed, to an extent I can sympathise with her because the cards she was handed. In hindisight she probably played them well but she stepped on a LOT of toes on her way

Those three countries all have one thing in common with each other that Britain doesn't. The poxy fecking Euro. Britain doesn't need another Maggie, its not that desperate.

Sensationalism Reggy at its best on your part.
