but he needs to show some f**kin respect to the club that put him on THE MAP. id only sell him abroad. 50 mill and he can go. rather the summer than now so we can search for a proper replacement.

let him go, if he dont wanna play for us and wants 200k a week instead of 100k, then its not the sort of player that deserves to put on the jersey. Has to be summer though, we wont have time to spend money, and we want a citeh cheatski bidding war

Torres is being a spoiled brat and good riddance if thats how he feels

His armband proved he was a red Suarez, Suarez; You'll Never Walk Alone it said Suarez, Suarez; He bought the band from a lad in Spain; Tall and blonde forgotten his name; Luis Suarez Liverpool's number 9!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

he is meant to be back at the club today and be at training on sunday.

wonder how the reast of the team will act around him, lucky JC still has a bad shoulder or i would think torres might get a black eye.

torn.

If he doesn't want to play I'd say let him go (only for £50m + )

but for the last couple of years we've been yearning for 2 strikers. We finally get one who would complement Torres so well, and he wants to bugg.er off. Now I'd LOVE to see him linking up with him.  so the temptation there would be to force him to stay, and just show (not tell, but show) him what we can do with improving the squad

This is the Ronaldo saga all over. He's staying but don't bet he'll be here come August.

There's still mixed opinions whether he has a release clause that activates in summer or not?

RED BEERGOGGLES wrote:I still think  its a decision that the lad would not have taken lightly ,and something may have happened behind the scenes which has resulted in this outcome .....I just cant see how the Lad would lead us a merry dance over this ,I mean the lad had just won the World Cup with Spain and he was draped in a Reds scarf ....and why suddenly after slowly regaining his form has he submitted this request now ...especially after eulogizing about Dalglish last week .....something doesn't sit right here......but lets face it we can all speculate over this and until later Today we will all be kept in the dark  ...... Liverpool have openly stated he's going nowhere for the time being ...its now up to Fernando to state his reasons for this knee jerk reaction

I guess its better if we sell him now and not later, the transfer request basically signals his intent to leave (yeh well 3 days before the transfer window shuts FML), we can't have Torres staying and sulking around for the remainder of the season. I guess he wishes to leave and put his reputation with the Liverpool fans on the line its his decision. What I heard that he isn't impressed with FSG's plans, because most of it is long term and he wants a club that will win trophies in the short term. Fair enough for the lad if he wants to do that, but his ''commitment'' sayings 2 weeks ago was unnecessary and a lot, including me, thought ''oh good, he wants to be here and win with us'' well yesterday was just a blow to our heads. I hope it is a knee jerk reaction for him mate, but I doubt so he burnt the bridges wanting to go to the plastic cockneys, sell him for 50m and move on. I'm not going to buy Liverpool shirts with names anymore, like someone tweeted on twitter who was bang on ''There is no name on the back of a Liverpool shirt that's more important than the crest in front of it'' - well said.

Not sure it will go through but lets face it Torres is a shadow of the man that we signed when he breezed in ready for action. He has become petulant and needs to be appeased and reassured constantly to feed his ego. I am sick of it now and maybe its time to move on. We cant go on with his mood swing and now hes gone into meltdown chucking the toys out and tearing up Liverpool like a spoilt kid who cant get his own way. The lads on good money and has spent half the last 18 months on the treatment table. Wouldnt surprise me if hes trying for a pay rise or a new contract but thats another angle. I would demand £60m cash from Chelsea and if they are daft enough to pay it, take it and get shut. Its a blow to our self esteem in the short term but I doubt losing Torres will hardly damage us at all on the park in the medium, long term, if at all. With the right investment we could easily improve by stengthening more areas. I am not convinced it will go through but you do wonder if we will look back the next time he kicks off, or pulls up, and wish we have taken the money and run and I think we might.

Different radio stations keep mentioning the 50 Million clause in his contract but
Guillem Balague said on Sky that there is no such clause, he said something about it being the normal thing to have in Spain but it is different when a player moves here ? Does anyone know if there is a clause and if there is surely Chelsea must have been made aware of it so why the ridiculous offer. I cant wait for the deadline to pass and hopefully he will still be a Liverpool player and then with a bit more time he will understand ( like Rooney,Tevez etc) that he should stay

Two things that are feckin gut wrenching about this are his choice of club Chelsea and the timing stinks the joint out.

This is unforgiveable, unforgiveable my heart is aching we adore him, I just dont know how he can do this to the fans as he knows how much we love him.

I wont be getting attached to no player anymore when all they do is sh!t on you from a great height for a bigger wedge.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

the way he posted it was sort of taking a step back from his post.

Just hope we sit tight and only accept an offer that will benefit us.....Letting him go to Chelsea for a derisory amount is out of the question
