Forgot all that b0ll0cks about how many of them were in the team that “finish 2nd”...the Premier League has moved on and we’ve gone backwards with our current team clearing lacking in ability.
When we finished 2nd we had a spine of Reina, Carra, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres.
Today:
-Carra is injured and appears to be on the decline
-Alonso’s gone
-Mascherano’s gone
-Gerrard isn’t fit
-and Torres looks like he can't be ar$ed with it.
So...what's left? oh yeah, the dross that clung to the team's coat tails. Not only are they not good enough, they cost us 10s of millions in the process.
Johnson, Konchesky, Aurelio, Maxi, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Ngog, Babel, Poulsen...that’s just for starters...we need a total clear out. Our team is filled with players who should be plying their trade at the likes of Bolton and we need to face up to the fact that this is the case.

i'm not saying our squad is that bad, but it isn't good enough for the top 4. Some people believe that we've still got a squad good enough to challenge for the title and a change of manager is all we need. That's rubbish. We're top 6 at best.

Someone pointed out (maybe Roy?) that if you need a squad to fight then this is not it.
Can anyone seriously look through this bunch of players and point out more than three who will put themselves on the line for us?

Lucas and Soto too.
They have the right attitude.
If you have a manger who you know is a muppet, and does not motivate you, you in turn do not do your best job.
I will say it again, replace Roy with a decent manager and these same players will start to look like a top 4 side.

Sure, it will take time for the new ones to do what they want to do, but the problem has gone.
If you compare our squad to that of other EPL teams we are top 6 easily.
Look what Redknapp did at Spurs with mostly the same players as Ramos. They were bottom when he took over, and a change of manager turned that around completely. Yes he has bought along the way, and spent quite heavily, but the change of manager took the same players from bottom three to top half very quickly. In that scenario Ramos was the problem, as Roy is ours.
Until Roy stops doing stupid things like playing Kuyt on the left wing, and Mereilles on the right, he hasn't got a leg to stand on, when moaning about the squad.
He chose to let Aqualani and Insua leave on loan, and replace them with dross, for a cost of £10m.
The squad is absolutely good enough to be above the likes of Stoke, Sunderland and Blackpool. Are you trying to say our squad is worse than theirs????
Nonsense.
