I note that some posters are alluding to forum members "doubting" Torres, and I'm not sure that's accurate. I've said many times that I thinkhe's the best striker we've ever had, which is hardly doubting him, but it was also pretty clear that earlier in the season he wasn't doing a tap. Whether that's his fault, Roy's fault, my fault or nobodies fault is of course open to debate, but the fact he wasn't doing it was pretty clear I think.
Once he put the effort in (and obviously once we played a bit better too), then his obvious quality shines through. I'm still not 100% convinced he is happy and committed to the cause, but if he is anywhere near his best he obviously makes a huge difference to us.

Ok he was trying to overcome a long term injury but in his last season for us he set up a goal every 136 minutes - the best assist rate in the top five leagues in Europe in 2009-10.
Yeah aside from Meireles his signings have been poor. Well ok Jonjo and Wilson are decent players but he didn't really sign them.
