I don't disagree. But my comment still stands -
For me he was the single reason we didn't win yesterday.
Unlike Maxi he is expected to score those chances, they were bread and butter opportunities. Clean through with only the keeper to beat, come on...
Torres will bounce back, but yesterday it was those misses that ultimately cost us. He could be forgiven for missing one of them but he missed all of them and worst still he didn't even get a single shot off.

I hope for all our sakes he can regain that consistency, the old magic, week in week out, but what we appear to be experiencing is the edge taken off a footballer after countless injury issues. We see flashes of genius, and its still enough but hes not what he was thats pretty clear at this point. Perhaps new blood at the club can relight the fire in him but only time will tell.

We decided to carry on playing both of them despite both needing an operation and an extended period of recovery. Instead we decided to “manage” the injuries with special training and physio sessions and both physically deteriorated. My guess is that if we had 2 other respectable strikers last season Torres would have had an operation when the injury first flared up and 3-4 months of rehabilitation and conditioning before making a comeback.
