a new team? didn't they sign enough players in the last 2 seasons? what they really need is a good manager and not that idiot...they just signed ballotelli for a huge amount of money, plus tevez, plus silva, how many offensive players they want?

anyway, i trust the rumour. peton, who i spoke about some posts ago, is the boss of the company, although he is not involved lately in negociations. he has been torres agent since torres was a kid and he is his friend. i think if things dont change, and have to change a lot to be honest, he is gonna say torres to move to another team.

Here is the article. Sorry it was 'new project', not new team as I said. But that pretty much means a shuffle of some sort I guess.

Manchester City 'willing to pay £1 more' than best offer for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres

Manchester City will try and ensure they outbid any competitors in the race for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres .

According to the People, Manchester City chiefs have asked the player's advisers at Bahia International to inform them of any offers on the table for the Liverpool forward.

“They are willing to pay one pound more than the best offer that comes in for Fernando," a source close to Torres told the paper.

“City want to prepare a new project with Torres as their main star. Next season they want to make sure they are fighting for the Premier League title from the first moment again."

-------------

Regarding the whole Torres thing I really want him to stay but at the same time I understand he is one of the best in the world so naturally he is ambitious and wants to win things. But we have the new owners now so I hope he stays with us a little longer just to see what we do in terms of new signings.

Also I don't know what his feelings are on Roy and his tactics but I hope we don't put added risk for losing Torres just so the club can persevere with Roy. Would be a bad move imo and if he leaves it could pave the way for Pepe to leave. Vice versa....

His performance today was off and on today, in some parts of the game he looked really world class with his running and trying to beat defenders, other parts, well, he looked f*cking lazy! Then again he pulls up with a magnificent back heel to set up the goal.

Comon Nando, we need you to torment Chelsea next week

bavlondon, you know what the problem is? torres will be 27 next april...and he has not won anysingle tittle in his teams. considering during some years he has been one of the best players in the world, that all the important players in the spanish team, and even gerrard or carra have won leagues or champions league, he must feel a bit desperate.

so when did it start going wrong for Torres, well looking back he has never been the same player since being taken off during that game when SG shock his head at Torres coming off. I dont think from that day anyone has seen the best of him, he was well under par in the world cup and has found it very hard in the prem this year, his speed is very low and dont seem to know where the ball is half the time, his touch is very poor right now.

I said before that his balance is off and i stick to that, i do wonder if his hearing in one ear might not be right, ok dont laugh, but in a game near the end of last year he stuck his head in the way of a shot, it hit him right on his right ear, he went done for only a few secs but even on sky Gray said he was lucky not to burst his eardrum. i burst my one years ago (well more than that as i dont have one now as it took 90% of my ear drum out and now just have a think skin there instead) but i :censored: up my golf for years and trying to spin and turn was very hard.

ok so if its not that then we are told he is 100% fit, so we are looking at a confidence thing, i dont think its the team thats done it but himself.

he sets himself very high goals and when he has not met them he is beating himself up, the world cup must have been a big let down for him, the world stage and he lust look a shadow of himself.

again this hit his confidence.

but this done account for his lack of balance on the ball.

if there is a manager that can talk to players and make them feel better then it is Roy, love him or hate him Roy has the rep that he is great with players and spends time in talking to them and helping them in anyway, god he even helped Danny pick a new home lol.

but there is another thing that i can not get out of my head.
last year he said he was worried that playing in the prem will shortten his playing life.
could it be that he is just not that kean on playing in the prem anymore?
could he be looking for a move to spain? homesick?

i said before that he should have been taken off, i was wrong, if its a confidence thing then keepping him on can help....but if he then has a game like his last one then again it can hit his confidence, its a very hard problem to sort out.

heard some garbage being spouted on the radio on the way home from the game. instead of praising us for a battling display and praising torres in particular for his part in the goal, they were more interested in the fact that he ran straight down the tunnel at the end when all the other players stayed on the pitch to applaud the fans.

the guy can't win whatever he does at the moment. he's still lacking a bit of confidence compared to what we know the lad can do but there's glimpses of the old player returning. what better stage to prove everyone wrong than next weekend against chelsea? his scoring record against them is excellent.

Say what you want about Torres, but i thought he was quite good yesterday.  Clearly the team is not creating enough chances for him at the moment.

He lost a lot of confidence by missing the early chance.  His touch wasn't great either.

But he set up a great chance for Gerrard.  (which Stevie well and truly messed up).  And he set up the goal.

He has played a big part in all of our goals this season.

yes, i even heard some say that he should not have been in that place to set the goal up lol, he can not win, and that doing his confidence in.

but i am worried about him stay that long in the prem, i would only give him two more years in the the UK before he moves on.

i would sell him in january. Theres no point keeping him as he will continually be picking up injuries and i would sell joe cole as well and get a decent winger.

:censored: hell thats a bit rash.

look he not having a good time right now but who is not to say that in a few weeks time he is back to himself, ok if he dont pick up them it could be something to look at but only if we have a top striker in mind.

as for cole, i think he is looking better and better, was very good on the ball in the last game and is looking fitter with every game he plays..............ok untill he got hurt lol
