i agree you need another good striker. but i think it is even more necessary a winger who change matches by himself.

we'd have at least one if not two top quality wingers if the board had actually backed the manager to get the players he wanted. david silva and simao to name but two.

as an atletico supporter, i think simao is not what you need. much better silva cause he has present and futrure of course, but you can't pay for him what man city did...maybe the summer before he was cheaper. riera is a good player but he is just an idiot.

Mayhaps we should buy Forlan :p. Or even better Kun Aguero... :p

Just seen an article on Masch talking about leaving liverpool, and i know he's a mercenary an all but it was interesting to hear one thing he said and i quote.

He said: "Torres is so good, he could play for any club. I'd like to see him at Barca but don't know if that would be possible.

"Liverpool's fans love him so much and he loves them so much too that I don't know if they would be able to part."

I don't know, i guess I just like hearing this from someone else who would've seen everything "behind the scenes". Shows to me that Torres actually has a genuine attatchment to the club and the fans :;):
If you can't amaze people with your intelligence, try confusing them with your :censored: :)

I always liked listening to Masch speak. Torres stayed with us this season because he knew the takeover was going to happen. I still maintain if he wanted to leave he would have done so last season. He is in it here for the long haul and im sure he will be back to his smiling self once we bring in 1 or 2 more new faces in the next transfer window.

In the meantime it would be nice to see us press more, we would get more goals out of him. Then him and Stevie could get back to jumping up and down holding hands smiling. :D

the only  thing to worry about nando is his injuries. Its a massive risk even if we get one more striker in. Look at all the big clubs they all have 4 or 5 top strikers.  Plus other teams have wingers defenders midfielder who all chip in. We have nando and stevie.

Well what do your expect when we are playing a stupid sitting back system. If we were pressing that would result in more chances overall which gives everyone a better chance of chipping in goal wise. We need backup for Torres regardless of the system we play as he is injury prone.

I agree about that as well. We really haven't got enough of those sort of matchwinners who can turn a match on their own with a bit of magic. We need more people who are actually able to challenge the oppositions defenders (besides Stevie and a more fit Nando).

We need to build a team where players look up and to pass the ball forward when they take it. Torres is always looking for that kind of ball, into the eyes of the guy in posession, but so often we knock it side and back, head down. The lad is not the type that grafts and bulldozes his way in, he needs people about him and at present we simply dont have that kind of ammunition to set him on fire. Put him Arsenals side and he would be mustard but right now its bloody hard work getting a tune from Nando with this outfit we have out there.

I don't think we are short of attacking players who can chip in with goals (but we are short of strikers):

1. Cole
2. Kuyt
3. Meireles
4. Maxi

You need to know how to play them according to their strengths... So far Roy has failled miserably. There is a glimpse of hope after the Blackburn game. Hopefully Roy learns from it.

Loved the Sky Sports Halloween 'Dont Fall Asleep' montage of Torres.

Hope he does haunt Bolton today!

nah... even in a very bad day, he can do just something different than others can't. you have to love the man.

after saying this, i haven't seen him in a such a bad physical form ever. i don't know if he needs a preseason or what but i am seriously worried about it.
