Not to mention that he is a great player and we'd have an awesome attack with Gerrard, Cole, Rooney and Torres
Too unpredictable, while it might be good for a striker but the team will have to be built around him, no. Like the above poster said, the next Gazza.
Too expensive, he wanted what? 300k per week??
Would rather spent all that money on Adam Johnson
Obviously cost would be a concern. Transfer fee is not going to exceed £30m, based on the fact he only has 18 months left of his contract. If United were to hold out for anything more they would risk losing him for substantially less or possibly nothing the following season.
Wages would be the bargaining area.
Problem with all of this is Man City. They will offer the world to Rooney in terms of wages and appease United by offering way over market rate for him.
However in the event Man City do get him, the only benefit for us is that the likes of Adebayor or Santa Cruz may become available on the cheap.
