The offer for Fernando, Reg has been on the table for months, i told a couple of people about this a couple of months ago,

Makes sense Nanster as Fergiebottle said he's known since august about Shrek.

Perth Glory striker Robbie Fowler claims Wayne Rooney is considering a move to the A-League.

Former England international Fowler claims he has chatted with his fellow Liverpudlian, who has confirmed this week he will not be signing a new deal at Manchester United, and with tongue in cheek hinted Rooney would consider a move to Western Australia.

He said on the Glory's official website: "Everyone knows I went home (and) it's probably only just come out lately about Wayne Rooney, but being in the football know, I found out a couple of weeks ago (that he wanted to leave Manchester United).

"I just had to come home and see if he'd be interested in coming to Perth.

"The signs were good. I was really pleased with the chat we had and we'll see where it takes us.

"I sold it to him and told him what a lovely place it is.

"I told him what I think about the city and he knows obviously all about a lot of the players.

"He's umming and ahhing at the minute, but it's looking good.

"He's very, very interested so watch this space."

Perth's deputy chairman Lui Giuliani said the idea was not as laughable as some may think.

"Well if and it's a big 'If', Wayne Rooney was out of contract, and Robbie Fowler could pull some strings we would love to have him at Perth Glory even as a guest," he said.

"If I said four years ago that Robbie Fowler would be playing for Perth Glory, I'm sure many people would have had a laugh."

Striker Rooney, 24, says he wants to leave the club, suggesting they lack the resources to match his ambition.

Ferguson was meeting with chief executive David Gill on Thursday to discuss United's next move.

But the Scot is keen to quash further Rooney talk and said: "What is really important is for us to put it to bed, we don't want it to become a saga."

United are trying hard to play happy family but they're in the same position as we were under H+G.  And that is decline.

First Ronaldo and Tevez, now Rooney.  Not enough money to sign good replacements.  Big names no longer as attracted.  Aging squad and manager.

I certainly wouldn't swap our current position with Uniteds.

Agree, Whiskey´s days are numbered, he's had a good run but HE is not a reason for a player to come to OT anymore, they need a new, younger fresh face to reinvigorate the brand. (Dont you love talking like a yank?)

Last season for the old twát, no 19th title for you....... haha.

EDIT....... what would happen if Shrek's leverage to stay was for Whisky to go......?  ???

Mob of Ure fans outside his mansion shouting they'll kill him if he signs for Citeh. Police called to help them open the gates.

Wayne Rooney has agreed a new five-year contract at Manchester United that is set to keep the striker at Old Trafford until at least June 2015.

The 24-year-old had earlier this week announced his intention to quit United but in a shock u-turn he has now committed his future to the club.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I'm delighted Wayne's agreed to stay."

Rooney added: "I've talked to the manager and the owners and they've convinced me this is where I belong."
