I can believe the rumour, and all this "it's the managers fault" stuff is nothing more than childish nonsense.
It's the managers fault we are second bottom and playing terrible, but it's not the managers "fault" if Torres isn't breaking sweat and is stinking the place out. It's like saying it's the managers fault that Kuyt's injured, it just makes no sense. DISCLAIMER-NOBODY IS DENYING IT IS THE MANAGERS FAULT WE AREN'T PLAYING WELL, OR OVER PROTECTING HIM, IT'S JUST THAT THE TORRES SITUATION IS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS THAT HE CAN'T SENSIBLY BE BLAMED FOR.
I don't need Andy Gray and his silly tv tactics screen thing to tell me anything about football, but prior to last nights match he very graphically illustrated where and why Torres is going wrong. If anybody can put up the link to the clip, you simply cannot watch it and not be convinced that the way Torres is going about his game currently is a lot different from the way he has done it previously.
Now it may be because he wants away, because he has already decided he doesn't want to play for Hodgson (the only way sensibly it could be partly blamed on the manager I suppose), because he's fallen out with his team mates or feck knpws what else, but to deny the fact that Torres himself isn't putting sufficient effort in, is another sky is blue situation I'm afraid.
