Wow, i can't believe everyone is slating Torres....I thought there would be more love for him than Roy. Torres had done so much for us and all these accusation is pure speculation. I would never doubt him to pretend to be hurt or sulk. Just tell me who had done for us offensively this year than him. Everyone has a down year but he had involved in so many of our goals mate. This is a team sports and you can't expect him to do everything. He never is a selfish players. For Fu.ck sake. Really disappointed with the fans reaction. People are defending Roy but not Torres provided that they don't know Fu.ck about what;s going on inside the room. You have to understand all top professional players have a strong ego as they need to be like this to perform. So, ego clashes and sh.lt happens and thus we need player like Carra or Gerrard to smooth out the differences and not to take sides. Good fu.cking luck in finding someone like Torres.

Everyone can see his body language, he has been utter tr!pe, his attitude stinks, he doesn't do the same runs as he used to do, he is also becoming lazy. He doesn't look @ssed to do anything. He is acting like a total b!tch, I've been saying that before he even committed himself to Liverpool after they ''promised' him

Being frustrated and attitude being stink are two different things. I think he is being more frustrated and what if the other players decided not to pass to him? What if he is not 100%? you don't fu.cking know and that's why I think it is all speculation. YOu are just ignoring all the other possibilities. Look at his performance this season and at least he is doing something productive mate. He got us the goal in the win, he got us the free kick and penalty against man u. He got us the free kick and assisted on kuyt;s goal against sunderland etc etc. Yes, he didn't look like he has the jump. He got fecking hurt last season and played as long as he could before he need to have surgery to play in the world cup. Then he got hurt again in the world cup and need games. If yoiu asked me if Roy can turn our team around or Torres to break out? I would bet on Torres than Roy. Man, if Roy deserve some slack then doesnt' Torres more deserving?

I dont agree with the majority of people's views here on Torres.

He's a very decent lad and one of the very few modern footballers who has any sort of principles.

I think the problem is not because he's not arsed but because his body is disintergrating before him. How many injuries has the lad over the past 2 years? Its been shocking and whats worse for him is that it seems to be the repeat of the same old groin injury. His game is always about at going full pelt at defenders but the injuries have obviously wrecked his confidence and he's undoubtedly scared that if he goes at a full sprint in a game his groin is going to go. This is not just apparent from his performances in the Liverpool shirt but also playing for Spain.

The second problem with Torres is that three years ago he made the biggest decision of his life to leave his home town club. He is an Athleti man through and through and had numerous offers to leave Athletico many times prior to 2007 which he turned down. Athletico are probably as messed up a club as we are but in ideal world Torres would probably have preferred to remain a one club man all his life. It was a gut wrenching decision for him to leave and he probably justified it to himself that he was moving on to a club which were making huge strides forward at the time. Now he finds himself right back in the position he was in at his Athletico days and he's probably thinking that if he was going to play in a struggling team he might as well have stayed with his beloved Athletico.

Add in other factors such as his mentor Rafa leaving, his friends Reira, Alsonso and Abeloa going, a change in playing style that doesnt suit him and the absolute shambles on and off the field, and no wonder he's unhappy. He's obviously been telling his Spainish international team mates this as both David Villa, Xavi and Gerard Pique have been running their mouth about how its "embarassing' for him to be in the current Liverpool side.

And still, despite all of that, he decided to stay on this summer when he could have taken the easy route out, where Chelsea and Man City would have offered him a king's ransom to move. He's a true red but all players have breaking points and I wouldnt begrudge the chap at all if he wants out.

Really good post, mate.  I think there's a lot of truth to what you're saying, sad as it is to contemplate.

That's down to the system we play which does him no favours whatsoever.

We don't press high enough up the pitch anymore. Under Rafa we pressed high which meant if we won the ball back we could get it to Torres earlier.

Oh and good post JBG. Agree with all of it.

Top post . Spot on !!

Can't believe the stick he's gettin'. We need to concentrate all our bile for them that deserve it.

He's struggling at the moment and needs support ! He's hurting as much as we all are.

i tell u what my mate rang me last nite laughing  that kevin davies had been picked for england. You know what i said you know what isaid id rather him than nando at the moment yes he isnt skillful or a prolific goal scorer but least he puts himself about and is a right handful in the box. I wish nando would show that sort of passion.

Oh and good post JBG. Agree with all of it.

Can't see him getting 20+ goals this season if we keep playing the current system. Maybe not even 15.
