He is the new Hemdall  Fortunately all his predictions of impending disaster so far have been miles off, so hopefully he can keep up the good work once the season gets started.

Miles off - nothing has happened either way yet - so no one is miles off just yet are they .

Just watching This Is Anfield on LFC.TV and they have confirmed Torres has not damaged his hamstring but instead damaged his abductor. The recovery time is significantly less.

I'd like to see evidence. I watched it last night and only saw him with a Spain flag draped on his shoulders.

Ok my bad.

I wouldn't look in too deep. Athletico are his boyhood club.

Consider if Gerrard went to Real Madrid and the won the world cup. I could see him wearing a Liverpool flag as Torres did. It just an affectionate gesture to his home fans

I know mate - I was trying to point out to bav that you can't read to much into Torres wearing a Liverpool scarf and it's not some big gesture that he is staying for years to come

Maybe but as I said he is fully aware of all the talk surrounding his future so he must know something like that will be interpreted in a certain way. It could be off the cuff but I don't think so. Torres loves Liverpool and it's fans and that was his way of showing us.

Bav his country of birth of which he is massively proud off had just won the world cup - i have a feeling that was the only thing going through his mind at the time and any specualtion was miles from his thoughts .

The way that I'm looking at Scarfgate is that if Torres was about to sign with Chelsea, he wouldn't have put an LFC scarf on.

I'm not saying he won't sign with Chelsea, I'm just saying that he is most likely sticking to his word and will now consider his future as the World Cup is over.  As of right now, he is an LFC player, so he grabbed an LFC scarf to give a little bit of recognition.

I know that, but like good yank pointed out if he was thinking about signing for Chelsea or City I doubt he would have put on a Liverpool scarf.

Not sure if he did today at the parade but I didn't see Fabregas with an Arsenal scarf last night. Anyone?

it is very positive to see Torres draped with an LFC scarf. As Nan said, he's nailed his colours to the mast and he'll be here for another season at the very least.

Bav your still reading too much into it - I doubt he was thinking too much about anything and someone gave him the scarf and he put it on - if he was still wearing it today on the parade then there might be something there but at the moment it means not much - he said he wasn't going to think about speculation until wc is done . I expect he still won't think about it for another week
