It's 2-1 to England in recent results against the jar-mans (Jimmy Nail geordie accent) in competitive games - 5-1 in Germany, 0-1 in at Wembley (Didi) and 1-0 in the Euros in 2000. In all competitive results against West Germany and unified Germany, going back to the first meeting at Wembley in 1966, it is 3-3 on wins with four draws of which two were decided by penalties in the jar-mans' favour

Cappello drops the dead donkey and we win - coinky-dink..........? Put a natural goalscorer on the pitch, nullify the need for Rooney to score or one of the midfielders.

re fat frank, in an England shirt he does FA - except score occaisionally which is about all he does. I guess he does a similar job to the heavy roller in cricket! :D

By the way, if we were to play Brazil did you know the only FOUR times we've played Brazil in a competitive match, and that doesn't include "le tournoi", Brazil have gone on to win the World Cup - 1958, 1962, 1970 and 2002. The only World Cup Brazil won without playing England was 1994 which was the last time we didn't qualify

apparently john terry is one of the 5 penalty takers for england apart from Gerrard, Lampard, Ashley Cole and Rooney. Joe Cole might be taken into consideration too. i honestly feel Gareth Barry and Defoe would be a far better option to either terry and Rooney.

but also by finishing 2nd in the group our game is now Sunday. A days extra rest may well come in handy.

id prefer less rest and play against Ghana than some more rest and then the Germans :D

Thats disgraceful going out with the group they had.
Should have easily gone through the Italians.
Sounds like i missed a good game though.

here's another stat for you... although they went out: New Zealand were actually unbeaten in world cup 2010 - in a group that contained Italy, paraguay and Slovakia.
