So, the French crash out...as they seem to do every other World Cup (they're due to make the Finals in Brazil, I guess). The press will slaughter them when they get home.

Nice one from S. Africa today. They came up just a bit short but they played some scintillating stuff and it would have been nice to see them advance. :cool:

Was a bit of a harsh decision imo. But what a disaster for the French. They still have a great squad with new blood always coming through so with the right manager they will be back. But for now they are surely in for the rollocking of their lives.

what did Henry ruin his legacy for?

He is now a known cheat and even worse a hypocrite (saying he was gutted the ref hadn't spotted it etc), yet he did nothing in the world cup.

France have good players but Frenchmen have little hearts, the Irish team is poor enough but would have been terriers and given it everything.

A bad day for sport that FIFA cheated Ireland by changing the seeding rules at the end of the qualifying groups and the ref then co-incidently went blind so that the second biggest european economy qualified.
