Yossi, Riera, Aurelio and maybe Babel? Would be foolish to sell the whole left side of the team wouldn't it?

Yet plenty would single Riera, Aurelio and Babel to go so why single out jacdaniel to question it? Riera and Aurelio are likely to go anyway, Babel is a waste of space so only Benayoun is added to most other people's list of players that could leave.

Don't worry, Rafa will probably play Lucas, Aquilani or maybe Torres on the left...........................

in an ideal world......

sell: itandje, cavaleiri, skyrtel, aurelio, degen, irwin, lucas, spearing, plessis, kuyt, babel.

always thought the GK from brazil was a waste of money.
itandge is still around? irwin will not make it. nor will spearing and plessis.
babel, kuyt and skertel can fetch some decent money. lucas is rubbish.
aurelio and degen are often injured and its pointless having so called quality if you're unable to use it.

this leaves:

reina, hansen, gulacsi, bouzanis
carragher, agger, kyrgiakos, johnson, wilson, insua, ayala, kelly
gerrard, aquilani, masch, riera, benayoun, maxi, jovanovic
torres, nemeth, ngog, pacheco, el zhar

that team is decent enough and with perhaps 3 new additions in the shape of Joe Cole, Kevin Kuranyi and Martin Petrov would give our attack a new dimension which isnt entirely reliable on Torres and Gerrard.

i do realise that selling them players would leave us short on the left but...

Aurelio was always injured anyways, particularily this season so he wont be a huge loss although he'll be missed.
Riera is a C*nt who'll never be played for us again so best to cash in now while he is worth something.
We need funds badly and Babel is one player could earn a bit, and his career just isnt taken off with us.
Yossi is a good player but he seems intent on leaving so let him go.

Don't forget that Maxi can play on the left and apparently Jovanovic can also play there.  Then you have Insua and possibly Agger for left back.  But also the money raised by selling the above would allow Rafa to sign players for the left.

Well our left side is definitely gone.Riera and Aurelio are gone for sure, Benny is almost there and Babel is prepared to leave since long ago, so we should definitely focus on signing someone who will play on our left.

As far as I'm concerned Reina, Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano and Carragher need to be kept and everyone else is replaceable.

After that group there are players who I do rate and would rather keep than sell (unless we got over the top offers for them).  This includes Agger, Johnson, Benayoun, Aquilani and Kuyt.  In actual fact I'm tempted to include Mascherano in this group because I think for the price we'd get for him we could replace with someone as good, but I've stuck him in the top group because I like his passion on the field and there aren't that many players around that have that.  I've included Aquilani as one I'd keep because he actually looks like a good player to me and I think if the manager showed a bit more faith in him more people would see that.

Then there's a few young players who I would make sure stayed on the books to see how they develop, mainly Pacheco.

As for the rest of them, I honestly don't care.

If we do lose any of my five 'irreplaceables' (namely Gerrard/Torres/Mascherano as the other two I can't see going anywhere) then we need to get absolute top dollar for them so we can rebuild the squad.

Ideally the squad needs a complete makeover, but without the cash to do so we need to concentrate on keeping hold of our best players, shipping out the sh.it, and hoping Benitez picks up a few bargains (which given his track record isn't highly likely).

:nod

There's a lotta of people calling for 80% of the squad to be shipped out BUT unless we can afford to replace them with better players I don't really see the point.

When I see Kuyt, Benayoun and Agger included in some peoples hit lists I honestly begin to wonder what planet are these people from ?

Kuyt, is something of a "jack of all trades, master of none" but despite his well documented shortcomings he's the kind of grafter that EVERY team needs, will run and run harrasing the opposition ALL DAY LONG.

Benayoun, possibly one of our most techinally gifted players with the ball at his feet, sell him ? OK, and for the money received who exactly do we replace him with ?

Agger, LFC career repeatedly interrupted by injury, maybe because of this we should consider letting him go BUT when fit this fella shows real class, the way he glides across the pitch often reminds me of Alan Hansen.

I'd certainly keep the above named players.

As far as who would I get rid of is concerned. Once again it comes down to money, just how much would we get for them that would in anyway allow Rafa (asuming he's still mgr) to bring in better quality therefore making the sale worthwhile.

I think it comes down to two/three players.

Lucas, don't know what his value is but christ knows we don't even have to buy a replacement for this fella  :D

More seriously, Aquilani or Mascherano. We should get good money for either of them.

Aquilani still hasn't found his "place" in the team, assuming Rafa sticks to his favoured formation, imo unless Rafa drops Gerrard back to CM (alongside Mascherano) and plays Aqualani in support of our lone striker we may as well try and get our money back.

Mascherano, although I'd love us to hold onto him I get the feeling the fella wants away anyway. Given his potential fee, allowing him to be sold may allow us to actually invest in a decent replacement CM and a second striker.

Are you pished? and what exactly are we supposed to do with that team?
Rafa is the only one who should be going then let the new manager have a look!
And I'll tell you now sad as it is we have all seen Stevie G in Red for the last time! he is defo going to jump ship and go abroard whilst he still can cos he won't win anything more under these idiots.
