Is everybody missing the point- priority has to be to get rid of RAFA. End of story

This is the get rid of players thread, Rafa we get rid of in the Rafa thread, the owners and Purslow we get rid of in the Takeover thread. 

We just need a Dawson thread now

Thats a total of 12 players. True, Spearing is on loan, Plessis and Nemth arnt first team players and Darby can be hardly counted as first team as well, but the rest are. Thats 8 players. If we get rid of the above mentioned 8 players, how much do you think we can get?

For sure, it will not be enough to buy another 8 players to replace them in the first team squad. Even if the manager manages to buy 8 players at today's inflated prices, it would probably be maybe one 20mil player plus 7 freebies like Veronin or nunez or whatnot. And no manager will get rid of 8 squad players and replace them with a supposedly "world class" player and fill up the other 7 spots with whoever's cheap and plays in the positions he needs.

Not all of those players have to be replaced. Degen, Spearing, Plessis, Cavalieri, Ngog, Itandje, Darby and El Zahar could all leave and the squad would be no worse off. Of the others, Babel is hardly used and is sh!te anyway and Lucas "potentially better than Gerrard" Leiva is easily replaced and is not too far of 'ditto' either. Aquilani and Riera are useful players, good enough to be in the squad at the very least, but if the opportunity arose to sell either AND secure good replacements that wouldn't be a bad idea. We don't have to sign "world class" players either. Just "good" or "useful" ones would do. We don't have many in the Crouch, Kranjcar, Bent sort of bracket and those sorts would suffice.

I think Degen has done ok, he cost us nothing, the doubt is can he stay fit. Benitez has under-used him in my opinion.

The priority should be to get rid of who we do not need, are not good enough and we could get money for.

Degen should not be anywhere near a club the size of Liverpool Football Club. Why the f*ck Benitez brought him anywhere near us is baffling in the extreme. How the man made it as a professional player is also just as baffling. Says a lot when this is the kind of player we have sitting on the bench. He's got pace, but that's it. I have pace (or at least I did when I was active) but I'm not warming the bench of one of the biggest clubs on the planet, am I?
