Fenerbahçe is agreed with Liverpool on Alonso's fee and waiting for Xabi Alonso's decision. Xabi is about to be a Fenerbahce's player.

I would be surprised if this came off but Aragones is now there so maybe.

I honestly can't see Alonso agreeing to go to Turkey. A top Italian club, a top Spanish club, even a top English club...... yes, but not even with guaranteed CL football can I see Alonso going to any other country than those.

You are right but Fenerbahce is a rich club (not rich as Liverpool of course) . For example if 5 million €'s was offered Xabi Alonso seasonly, Fenerbahce might persuade him to go to Turkiye.
And I don't think those teams(Inter, Arsenal...) can give him 5 million €'s seasonly.
And the transfer fee is overrated I think, those teams does not want to give a lot of money for Xabi, but in my opinion Fenerbahce can rise up to 20m €'s for Xabi.
As a result I think Alonso will go to Fenerbahce, if not, will stay in Liverpool.

Agreed Saint i think it would be a step down football wise if he went there . I mean he hasnt even reached his prime yet hes only 26 still a baby.

Just by chance though that he did go there i cant see him lasting more than a season. youve only got to look back a see that any player who has played in the prem or the old first division hasnt lasted more than a season out there .

And... At last, Xabi Alonso is now Fenerbahçe's player... He's all cost(fee+salary) is 17.2 million pounds. See you in CL folks! :)

You will hear it in 24 hours. Believe me this is true. My source is close to Fenerbahçe club management.

Just sat here wondering like !

I have no partuicluar objections per se (he says before someone puts a fatuah out on him) bit its just that it's a Liverpool foirum and its kind of been done before.

Allied to that is th inevitable descent into the "wait until you come to hell" insults. Before long, you've got people posting up Youtube clips of various "crews" and "firms" from some deprived backwater of the Mediterranean and it all gets a bit silly. Then we draw you in the first group stage of the Champions League, and in the away leg somebody lets off a flare, lots of people whistle, it's a boring game and we win 1-0. It's really not worth getting over excited about in my experience.

Ahahah :D You really thought you actually gave a smart answer, didn't you? In your puny little cyber world you thought you burned some opponent team fan with a "witty?" answer. First things first, learn how to speak your own language.

kind of been done before -> kind HAVE been done before

Reading this explains your level so whatever you babbled is junk to me, but allow me to give you a piece anyway.

Granted, TR team fans tend to get rowdy and obnoxious with their links and hard to understand comments in the forums (please note, it is not their first language, like you, so they actually have an excuse), but your comments about being a boring game in Istanbul, a lot of whistles, and flares also shows me your football level as well.

Boring game with 3 goals? Of course it is boring because the team you scored 8 in your home just beat you :rasp That's got to be boring to watch. Or it is boring because the atmosphere and noise is so loud that little Gerrard had no idea what's going on. He barely came to his senses and finally scored something on the 85th. May be that atmosphere which you think all whistles and one flare kept your "reds" look like a fish out of lake. Trust me, that all whistle and one flare is how you fire up a team, not by singing the saaaame oooool' soooong ooooover aaand ooooover agaiiiiiiiin.

Liverpool is one of the best teams, hell, they proved to be the best last year and teams like Besiktas is nowhere close. But people like yourself make me think that those TR teams are actually will beat you everytime when you go to TR and even possibly at your own home.

The funny thing about this, is I am not even a Besiktas fan.

Here is you flare.  :rasp

Well, I'd be very surprised if there's anything in the Fenerbahçe link.

I find it hard to believe that any top quality player with aspirations to achieve would go there for the football. A holiday and a big payday perhaps, but not the football.

My post is riddled with spelling and gramatical errors, they pretty much always are. Unfortunately you've managed to highlight one of the bits which is actually correct.

Never mind though, I take the point. It's not your first language and all that, and it's fair to say that your English is quite a bit better than my Turkish (unless of course we stray into the realms of Doner Kebabs, which is a subject that I do have quite a bit of expertese in, even if I do say so myself).

Anyhow, I understand your frustration, sorry if I offended you, and I take on board the fact that you don't support Besiktas. It is though a fact that we have had many Turkish fans on here in the past, and without any memorable exceptions they have been a total pain in the erse. If in fact you aren't one of those, then my humble apologies. Obviously if in fact you are one of those, then b0ll0cks to you :D
