Find it incredible that Arby gets straight into the team though, also fairly amazed that Jerzy is still their number 2 goalie. How much do you think they'll give us for Glen at Xmas, £60 million maybe?  :D

ALONSO ON LIVERPOOL...

"It was a tough call and a very difficult decision for me to leave Liverpool. During my five years I was lucky enough to experience some magical nights at Anfield, to experience the support of the best fans in the world. I will always have them in my mind."

ALONSO ON BENITEZ...

"There have been a lot of rumours but as I've said before, it was a professional relationship. I have always tried to do what he asked me to do on the pitch. When the birth of my child happened, I had to take a decision to be with my family because it was an important moment. Last summer when the club proposed that I had to be sold to buy new players it was a difficult moment, but I accepted it as a professional. That moment changed my mind, from that moment it was time for a change.

Well the writing was always on the wall. It was a risky thing to do but Rafa made his choice and now he has to live with it.

Have to ask why he suddenly found an extra gear last season when he was just cruising along the previous two seasons ? Was it to put himself in the shop window for a club like Madrid to come along or was it try and give Liverpool fans a thank you by performing so well for us ? I hope its the second one not so sure

I think he always gave it 100% GYBS. He just clicked more along with the rest of the team last season compared to previous ones. He was a model professional and one of the few players we could label with the term world class.

Totally agree. Absolute 100% model professional. A lot of others could learn from him.
