Said in a interview when he became captain," The Manager has always said that i would captain Liverpool one day but it was a bit of a shock when he told me i was to be captain from now on, but i am thrilled. Its a dream come true. I was captain of my school side and i used to go along to Anfield to watch the team and i always looked up to people like John Barnes who captained the team durind the 90's. I used to watch Barnes with the captains armband and dream that one day it would be me captaining the team i love"

I thought Steve Gerrard used to be support Liverpool when he was little boy, he said about his favourite player was John Barnes. That mean he can't be Everton supporter!

I tell you something about the players who used to be Everton supporters who played for Liverpool.

Michael Owen - Everton
Robbie Fowler - Everton
Steve McManaman - Everton
Jamie Carragher - Everton
Steve McMahon - Everton
David Johnston - Everton

I know Michael Ball used to be Liverpool fan when he was little boy and he used to be played for Everton.

Kenny Dalglish was a Rangers fan but who do you think he cheers for on Old Firm day, Celtic of course.

It doesn't matter, nobody thinks the scouser lads are playing for the money. Whatever Carraghers short falls are as a player, heart is not one of them, those Senegal boys now are a different matter.

You can tell when a player loves a club.

If you go along that line - Owen,Gerrard,McMahon, Rush,Barton,McManaman,Gerry Byrne, etc etc etc were all bluenoses but they all were lucky enough to become true believers!!!
