Sevilla Vs Liverpool 21/11 19:45

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Lets get the win and seal our place for the next phase. I'm hoping we get 3 points and end up with a game to spare.

We should have hammered these at Anfield, kamikaze defending let them back into the game though. Let's go there and set the record straight. 3-0 to us.

There's been a lot made of us recently after beating the cannon fodder - Huddersfield, Maribor, West Ham and Southampton.

Sevilla & Chelsea coming up next will show us if we've turned that corner.

Seen too many false dawns under various managers to fall for it after dispatching teams we 'should' be beating.

Having said that, our performances (most recently against the Saints), have improved steadily on an upward curve & we do look to be simmering nicely.

Put this to bed, show us we're a good team and beat Seville.

Hardest fixture of our group. I'd take a draw but no reason we can't get the win.

We'll beat Moscow at our place but it'll be ideal to finish the job now

With the exception of Maribor it's all pretty close in our group.

Current standings with four games gone has us on 8 points Seville on 7 and Spartak on 5.

Tonights' results will have a massive impact on our prospects.

Expect Spartak to take three points from Maribor tonight which will put them on 8 points from 5 games. They'll go level with us if we lose, leapfrog Seville if we win, and go level with Seville if we draw, both would then be just one point behind us.

With Sevilles' last game away at Maribor, (surely 3 p0ints for Seville) and Spartaks' last game at our place it'll be a close run thing for who finishes top of the group and avoids the "bigger" threats in the next round.

Interestingly Seville's standing in their league is very similar to ours 12 games in

SEV W7 D1 L4 GF14 GA12.  PTS22. LG Position 5th.

LFC W7 D4 L2 GF17 GA7 .  PTS22.  LG Position 5th.

This could be the "Thriller versus Sevilla" :)
We have the firepower to win this, but it could also be a draw. Obviously if we don't win we have it all to do in the final game, especially if spartak also win tonight and we don't.  Best to get the job done now.
Will Klopp play at full strength or tweak the team a bit!? Who knows.

But I'd go with:
Karius
Alexander-Arnold Matip Gomez Robertson
Wjnaldum hendo Coutinho
Salah firminho Mane

Any result but a win would be a huge disappointment for me...We are a much better team in a much better form at the moment.

I'm confident we will get a positive result and progress onto the next phase. Defensively we've improved and with the firepower, speed we've got uptop i can't see Sevilla handling us.

A win would be nice to put this group to bed and we have more than enough to do the job over there however our defending away from is generally atrocious so im not confident of us keeping them out for 90 mins, hopefully Salah and Mane can keep up their recent form and get us some goals.

Id go with this lineup

Gk. Karius
Rb. Trent AA
Lb. Moreno
Cb. Gomez
Cb. Lovren

Cm. Gini W
Cm. Can
Cm. Couthino

Lf. Mane
Cf. Firmino
Rf. Salah

Subs: Sturridge, Robertson, Mignolet, Klavaan, Lallana, Henderson, Oxlaide

It's best to go for the win and get the job done tonight folks. If not and spartak win, it's going to be a very tense night at Anfield v Spartak in a couple of weeks and we risk slipping up. Who wants that scenario!!? Not me matey!

Spartak drew with Maribor so a win today and we can let the kids have a run in the final game.
