Always like it when we visit Deepdale, it is the only remaining ground other than Anfield which hosted a game on that first ever Saturday of league football back on the 8th of September 1888.

Same approach as the last round I’d expect. Leave out the starting 11 for Brighton on Saturday and create the best 11 from what’s left.

Starting 11 for Brighton: Alisson, Trent, Robertson, Matip, van Dijk, Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Salah, Jota, Firmino

A side note, it looks like our on loan defender, Sepp van den Berg, will be allowed to play for Preston.

I hope young Musialowski gets a chance, he seems to be a great prospect. I feel a bit sorry seeing Mane in your line up Eagle, I'd prefer to see him come off the bench if needed rather than start.

Not my favourite competition but I would like us to make more of a fist of it than we have in the last few years. We used to own this cup and now we seem to have handed it to Shitee !!

Glad we've rotated the first 11.

Some of these young lads and fringe players need to dig deep and show klopp why they deserve a place in the regular 11.

Hardly an inspiring performance! Defence and Midfield are ok but little going on up front, the lads aren't creating space. I guess thats why Bobby and Jota are on the bench...
