Liverpool vs Man City 07/02 16:30 Ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:37 pm

Dreading this game, I really pray and hope we don't suffer our 3rd home loss in a row.

TEAM NEWS

Liverpool will monitor injury doubts Sadio Mane and Fabinho in the hope they are passed fit to play on Sunday.

Alisson may also return following illness, while new signing Ozan Kabak is available, though he is unlikely to start so soon after joining on loan.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reported no new injuries.

City, who have won their past 13 games in league and cup, remain without Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne and Nathan Ake.

We must win this game if we want to hold strong onto a UCL spot, title is gone imo regardless if we win this one. However, you never know maybe things could change. Imagine Kabak solidifies us at the back, davies comes good and with Hendo/Fab back in Mid, Jota unleashed we may, just may push for a title race. Holding on straws I guess but time will tell.

That’s the team I’d go with as well, depending on fitness/availability obviously.

Think it's probably too soon for Kabak, might go with Phillips instead who's been decent recently.

Anyway, the title is probably gone even if we win here but we should still aim for the 3 points. We're not guaranteed to be in the top 4 come the end of the season either, so there's a lot to play for.

Few results went our way, hammers drew and the two cancers drew. Must've broken United fans hearts, last min goal, ohhh how much I feel for them.  :upside:

I really pray and hope we win against City, it will help strengthen out UCL spot and who knows build some much added confidence.

Not sure Klopp will throw Kabak in. This is the most intense game of the season, he's only 20, been in the country less than a week, and hasn't had a chance to do any real training apart from a rondo session. There is no midweek game so he and Davies will have 5 days of proper training so I'd think at least one will play against Leicester.

I'd think it's more likely that Henderson lines up alongside Fabinho at CB. The question is who starts alongside Thiago and Gini. Milner, Curtis Jones, or Ox.

I think you start Milner and sub him with Jones at around 60 minutes depending on if the game is tight.

It really is difficult to get your head around the way we’ve unravelled since the turn of the year, we’ve gone from being top on Christmas Day and being unbeaten at home in 2 years to clinging on to a top 4 place by or fingertips and staring down the barrel of a third successive home defeat on the bounce, all within the space of a month!
We were 5 points clear of the chasing pack now City are 7 points ahead of us with a game in hand

Dunno why, but I have a good feeling about today. Mane and Fabinho are back...the lads are due a bounce back and today could be it.

I'm going for a baffling 3-0 to the mighty reds...

We do tend to play better against the better sides and it does look a decent team with as you say Mane and Fab back.
