Midfield of Lucas/Allen/Gerrard looks pretty average ,with Only Couthinho to offer "something" different.
Borini/Aspas "Nice" guys but don't capture your imagination.

The most worrying insight for me is that we pretty much look the same, good with the ball ,glimpse of excellence and a lot of casual mediocre plays. Not good enough for a CL spot. We are stuck in that low gear mode ,unable to change pace.

Well from the second half i think Henderson definitely should play instead of Allen and would prefer Ibe or Sterling instead of Borini with Aspas up front through the middle - Aspas second half showed better movement and awareness of players around him.

Was comfortable in the end - Coutinho stands out , Gerrard and Lucas controlled the middle second half - Aspas when given space has good awareness and Mignolet looked sharp.

Borini and Allen looked just like they did last season.

Ibe and Henderson were bright when they came on

I think Suarez looked 0.05% more involved in this game. Maybe the whole squad begging him to stay is getting across

40 degrees in the shade and  humidity levels reaching 90 % and this moaning fecker wants them to run for 90 minutes ....priceless.

Aspas took his goal well and a beautiful assist for Gerrard aswell. I've been impressed with his contribution so far.
