Liverpool alerted to playmaker's availability
Liverpool have been informed that Fulham are now ready to cash in on their talented playmaker Steed Malbranque
Reports emanating from France suggest Fulham are prepared to listen to offers for the talented playmaker.
Malbranque's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks after he lost his place in the side earlier in the season.
The former Lyon star has struggled to reproduce his best form this season and was dropped by Chris Coleman.
Malbranque, who is under contract to Fulham 2007, is believed to be keen to stay until the end of the season, but the club are looking at possibly selling him in the January transfer window in a bid to bring some money in.
Fulham are likely to want in the region of £5 million for the Belgium-born star and there is sure to be no shortage of takers for Malbranque.
Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool and Middlesbrough have all been linked with Malbranque and any hint that Fulham would be willing offload the midfielder could see the interested clubs step up their interest in the player.
Former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier was always keen on bringing the player to Anfield and even made a bid for him not long before he was axed. That bid was withdrawn when Houllier left the club.
