Given his recent complimentary statements about Steven Gerrard ("would like to play alongside him") and the Liverpools fans ("they are fantastic") Could we lure him to Anfield and would we want to ?

My immediate reaction is yes but on reflection , he's 30 this summer  , i'd still take him but the price would have to be right .

Thoughts ?

Same as you, if the price is right then happily. But then again what kinda price would that be ?

Forget that if he does leave im sure it would be to go to Spain or perhaps Italy.

In reagards to the money we will have come the summer even if Rafa does get that much to spend i doubt he would blow most of it in the first year. Then again up until now we have only see Rafa on a tight budget. It would be interesting to see how he deals with having a lot of money. :D

I would love him to play for us!
Yes he's coming 30 but for me he's much younger with regards to fitness!Henry has looked after his body perfectly and i struggle to think of a more naturally athletic player in the league!
Henry has been a class act in his time in England and has been one of the most entertaining players to watch for years!

I dont think his recent 'rest' as it was called publicly was just a rest...I really dont think all is well between him and Wenger, maybe im wrong?Perhaps hes made it clear he wants away and although reluctant to let him go,they feel they may as well cash in while they can get top dollar?
I'd be delighted to see him at LFC and would see him as a safe bet as he has proven he can more than cut it in the EPL!
Why take a gamble on another foriegner only for them to struggle to adapt, its always a possibility!

Id say Henry has at least 3-4 years, maybe pushing it 5 of top quality football in him yet!

He could be the 20+ a season man we need to help us take it to the next level and win the league!

If the Gooners did let him go and we get the '£150m' I still don't think we'd sign him, when Henry did that interview were he was very complimentary towards LFC he did also state that having spent so long at Arsenal he probably wouldn't/couldn't play for another team in England....

....But if the money was right would that still be the case??? :D

120mil sounds ace to me, and i know americans like to spend big so i can see that figure being accurate considering some american sporting stars are on stupid money, our stars are on pittance compared! however i dont want to keep my hopes up until  i see it all happening and a formal statement is made to the press about what is actually going on behind the scenes!

also what someone posted about gillet and hicks having differing views on transfer policy i can see that working in our favour! also benitez will get what he wants hes to business savvy not to in my opinion!

theres no way that we could afford henry as i dont think rafa is the type of manager who'l pay over the odds for a player. also, as you said above, even though henry has always been complimetary about liverpool i think he's too connected to arsenal to ever play for any other english club

Ture, but thinking of how Wenger would react alone makes me want to see Henry at Liverpool  :D

He's f*cking lazy mate.

You watch him in matches - no tracking back, not tackles.

He just runs after the ball/goal, then saunters back as and when he feels like it.

Would still like to see him play for us though.

I think if he goes out of arsenal he'll go abroad to barcelona o madrid.....then when his contract runs out there he'll say he misses the EPL and will come back n play for us "larsson style" :p

I read on my side of the ocean that The Independant wrote today that the deal would be set for Gillet and Hicks.

If it is indeed true, Henry at Anfield could happen. Tom Hicks made possible for his baseball team to sign a player, Alex Rodriguez, for 10 years, a deal worth 252M US$. Which was the biggest contract in North American sports, until the Beckham one.
(Rodriguez did play well but was traded to the New York Yankees, but that doesn't matter)

Just to say that Hicks is not shy to get players. On the minus side, that baseball team actually sucks.

Gilette and Hicks are flying into this morning to announce their takeover of our football club. The club has cancelled all museum tours etc and are ready to announce the take over to the stock exchange at 7.30am

Howdy Mr Hicks,
