Said it months ago that we should bin him as he is a luxury we can't afford. Time isn't on his side and neither is his body so he is finished at this level. Barca were apparently interested a while ago so pack him off with Bobby as all he will do next season is play a few games and leave for free.

Eff these players imo. We need to be more pro active here rather than reactive.

- With it looking likely we’ll be in the Europa League next season, do we need the same sort of squad as if we were in the Champions League? Will Klopp use the group stages as an opportunity to give our second-string game time and develop the likes of Ramsay and Bajcetic?
- Who has done a Mane and told Klopp that they want a new challenge?
- With no Champions League football next season, and subsequently no meaty Champions League bonuses for the players, will more players be asking their agents to find a move?
- Which players have no interest in moving on regardless of what Klopp/the club say because they are on a good contract that they won’t get elsewhere and their family are settled in the North West?

I don’t think Kelleher will want to spend another season as 2nd choice and will be asking for a move and his stock is high enough that decent clubs will be interested in him. If Adrian leave on a bosmon that means we’ll need to find 2 keepers. One of those slots could be filled by either Pitaluga or Harvey Davies but certainly not both of them.

In defence I have a feeling Matip will move on. He’ll only have 1 year left on his contract and without CL football and CL bonuses he might decide to cut his losses as I can’t see him getting an extension that takes him to 34/35. That gives un an opportunity to bring in a young talented player who will be the long term partner for Konate. Don’t think we’ll see much else change in defence.

In midfield Keita and Ox are leaving on bosmons. Arthur’s loan will end but he doesn’t need replacing. And it sounds like Milner will finally move on with Brighton strongly linked but I would be fine with him staying as an extra body that doesn’t affect other plans. Don’t think there is any chance of Henderson moving on as he has 2 years on a very big contract which he won’t get close to elsewhere. I do wonder if one of Fabinho or Thiago might fancy a move to sunnier climates. That would open up the oppounity to further change the midfield. As a minimum we need two midfielders that are not "projects" and will start taking first team minutes straight away.

I don’t see much change in the forward line. Firmino will move on but I think Gakpo was the early replacement.

More often than not the formula for Klopp is 3 keepers, 8 defenders, and 14 midfielders and attackers with a mix of specialists and hybrids. And normally within this 25 there are say maybe up to 5 you would consider "league cup players" who are trying to establish themselves as PL options. My guess is that it will look pretty close to this:

Leave: Kelleher, Adrian, Matip, Nat Phillips, Milner, Arthur, Ox, Keita, Firmino
Loan: Conor Bradley, Rhy Williams, van den Berg, Morton, Carvalho
Squad on 1 September:

                             Alisson
                              ?????
                       Pitaluga/Davies

Trent          Konate          van Djik          Robertson
Ramsay       Gomez            ?????              Tsimikas

             ?????          Fabinho          ?????
        Henderson     Bajcetic         Thiago
                                                   Jones

             Salah          Gakpo          Diaz
            Elliott          Nunez          Jota

Good post mate, Up top I can't see any activity either and to be fair we don't require anyone.

I'm disappointed so far with how Carvalho hasn't worked so far. Lad is young but seemed very promising. I guess best would be sending him on loan and see how he does.

I thought Carvalho was doing quite well in any of the matches he played. Enough to keep him in the fold anyway so can't understand why his minutes have been cut to zero.  We could send him out on loan but not many come back through that door. A shame really as he is talented and had he of stayed at Fulham then he would have had plenty of gametime.

I said it when we signed Thiago, it doesn't matter how good he is if he isn't playing. Overall he's been a bad signing for us and even worse we can't really move him on now because we have a lot of others that are leaving this summer, so he will most likely also leave as a free agent after next season.

I just don't get the what kinf of model the club is using. It sure isn't the city model to spend, spend spend.
But it sure as f*ck isn't buying and selling either to sustain the finances. When did we sell ANY player for some REAL money? when will we sell one?
You just can't base your model on making the CL with no investment cause that has never worked and will not work.
Right now our model is to let most players sign LONG term lucrative contracts well into their 30s and then let all of them walk for free at the end of it when they are WELL past their best. That will get you lazy, overpaid garbage with no drive well past the expiry date. And that is where we are heading.
Like how will this team get better next season?
No money, no CL footie, and the squad 1 year older while at the same time needing major reinforcements. And the same next season and the next after that.
And there is no money coming in from player sales either anymore anytime soon....

Really funny. I am asking about the FUTURE!!
There is basically NOTHING left worth selling and basically all our players are going to leave on a free.

Allisson: not going anywhere and probably leaving on a free when his contract ends at 35
Kelleher: Might leave but won't fetch much money
Adrian: will leave on a free
Van Dijk: will leave on a free at 35
Konate: well, can't sell him
Gomez: who knows what his value is
Matip: leaves on a free next summer
Philips: have shown to not be worth much at all
Robertson: will leave on afree when his contract is up
Tsimikas: value isn't that high and only 2 years left
Trent: well, can't sell him
Fabinho: won't be going anywhere as we have no midfielders
Bajcetic: still just a kid
Thiago: leave on a free next summer
Jones: might get something but as he is homegrown and a midfielder not going anywhere
Henderson: leaving on a free in 2 years
Elliot: unlikely to be sold as he is a midfielder
Carvalho: has little value
Diaz: maybe has some value but then you need to replace him
Gakpo: just bought
Jota: too injuy prone to fetch a nice sum
Salah: leaves on afree when contract is up
Nunez: won't sell him

So where is the big sales that will fund the needed reinforcements? No cl money either....
Not much in the squad that can be sold or that the club is able to sell...

Paisley sold players in advance of their time being up. You've said above that we're going to let half of them see out their contracts and the other half leave at 35. No management whatsoever! And you wonder why we collapsed this season?
