Well he was bloody awful and I am wandering if there would of been the same outrage as last season if he was subbed and maybe Hodgson was aware of that and left him on when a change should of been made

And yet hodgson said before the game that he'll ease him back to full fitness.   As in 2 goals for Spain last week.......

the whole team setup isn't helping torres to be honest. the fact is, we defend so deep as a side that the midfield and gerrard are consequently miles from torres. yesterday there was nobody withing 40 yards of him at times.

we really need to be pressing the ball higher up the pitch. unfortunately, with carragher in the side that will never happen.

Don't bring up the past you keep telling us even though you said comparisons will be made  :upside:

The two contexts were very different and last years decision was more diabolical than anything we've seen from Hodgson.

Playing 4-4-2 against City was pretty diabolical tbh, but oh I forgot that was Mascherano's fault.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

No that was the owners fault (innit).

Not getting a striker is also pretty bad - yesterdays game was proof that we need another option to Torres - No Torres or Torres playing poor means no goal threat .

When he is offering nothing in the game you might as well try something - babel or Pacheco could of been used to at least try something but he left him toiling away doing nothing .

Do you not think Roy was trying to get in a striker during the transfer window?

He had all summer long to get one . He seemed to of wrapped up the transfer of Merelies quickly . Sunderland seemed to wrap up Asomah Gyan quickly and he would of given us a threat - even Kenwyne Jones deal was done quickly .

Well, I would have been upset to see him subbed because, poor as he was, he always just needs a second of magic to win us the game.  He was pretty average overall against WBA but secured us a key win with one brilliant strike.  That's why I'd be loathe to sub him yesterday and that's why I was frustrated he was subbed at St. Andrews last season.
