Welcome to Liverpool lad, the club wont be blind to the fact that having a Japanese player will increase the clubs following in Japan and the merchandise sales that will follow.

From what I’ve seen of him this looks like a brilliant piece of business. Well done Reds !!

Good luck and welcome.

He was unplayable when he played against us, I think he will do really well here. I thought he was 19 or something, didn't know he will be 25 next year. Good thing is he will jump straight into the side.

Not yet, but then again he's only been here  4 weeks ! Let's give him a chance to properly bed in.

oh yeah all for giving him that chance, just not really spotted any signs he's gonna be anything more than a bench warmer so far.

Seriously ?

Can we not give him a chance to settle ?

It’s a massive change for him and I suspect we won’t see the best of him until next season

Far too early to assess the lad and what he is capable of at premiership level. I’ll be honest I wasn’t impressed yesterday against first division opposition and the name Aquilani came to mind ??

Way too early to access , he is clearly still trying to adapt and it's not easy . Soon .

Not really pleased with his headless running so far but I'm sure he'll improve. He needs time, like most Klopp signings.

These comments are identical to the things people were saying about Fabinho, during his first few weeks with us. Have you guys learnt nothing? Kloppo knows what he's doing  :nod

Robbo was another one who took a while to settle and he’d played in England & Scotland all his life, he found it tough initially and he didn’t even have to cope with adapting to a different culture, learning a new language etc which Takumi has had to.
To be fair to Takumi as well his opportunities have all come in games where it has been tough to shine, he made his debut playing in an U23 team up against Everton’s premier league side, Wolves away is arguably our second toughest league fixture of the season and on Sunday he played in a another cobbled together cup team.

Like I said 'Im all for giving him the chance to settle' so wind your neck in. I was just saying I haven't seen even a twinkle of the quality he is going to need to dislodge anyone from the first team as yet, thats all.

He looks ok at the moment.. the German league is slower than ours but not as slow as the Spanish or Italian..

He needs until the end of the season, and Klopp will acclimatise him. There is a chance he won't adapt but he has a better chance here than anywhere else.
