I must say, I never felt lik SG would stay.  I can't explain it, but deep in my gut I knew he would leave.  If it really was the agents fault, he coult talk them out of it. It is his fault and his fault alone. If he wanted to he could stay.  He doesn't want to.

Go Rafa!!

Liverpool lining up Saviola swoop
11:10 July, 6, 2005
Liverpool are reportedly set to make a move for Javier Saviola.

Sources in Spain suggest Rafael Benitez is about to swoop for the playmaker after Barcelona confirmed he was no longer in their plans for the coming season.

"We have decided that Saviola is not in our plans for next season," said sporting director Txiki Beguiristain. "But if he is still here on July 18 then he will continue being a Barcelona player.

"We are still in talks with the player and his representatives and with clubs who may be interested in him. But, at the end of the day, it is down to the player where he wants to spend next season.”

I'd like us to sign Saviola as I think we could pick him up quite cheap.

From the Daily Star:

Baggies chase Saviola

West Brom boss Bryan Robson is hoping to pull off a major transfer coup by signing Argentina striker Javier Saviola.

The 23-year-old has been told he can leave Barcelona this summer, sparking a chase for his signature.

Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Liverpool and Newcastle are all keen on Saviola, but Robson is confident of winning beating off the competition.

The Baggies’ secret weapon is Argentinian great Gabriel Batistuta, who is set to join the coaching staff at The Hawthorns for pre-season training.

Saviola is unlikely to turn down the chance to work with his hero, meaning Geoff Horsfield could have an impressive new strike-partner next term.

i hear the whole team has handed in a transfer request, since gerrard says he is staying.

the feeling in the camp is anger, as the team feel they are not worthy of gerrard, so should go.

cheers boys

He's going to the shop to get some extra comfy cushions for the bench.

Sitting on it two years in a row without cushions would be hell on his piles.
