As I did last season, this thread will be aimed at provided a representative opinion on the forum on player performance. Opinions are always divided on here but this will at least allow the majority view to be presented.

I'll be posting a ratings thread after each game (you may of already seen the Sunderland ratings thread.

Two little guidelines please -

1) Keeps the ratings thread purely a place to post your ratings not to discuss everyone else's. Last season a couple of the ratings threads spiralled into arguments. At least try and do that in the match thread.

2) Please use my opening post as a template. It makes it harder for me if you post the player list in a different order.

I'll be interesting how opinions on the squad as a whole compare to last season.

Changes
1) I've added the manager this season. Seems fair as many last season thought the manager, at times, was primarily at fault not the players.
2) In the results thread I'll post the overall average player and manager ratings but also provide a combined average team score.

Dundalk - can you update the Forum Index link to reflect this thread instead of last seasons.

not many surprises there bar Skrtel, basically our left side has been the standout as has Lucas protecting the back four

Skrtel has only played 2 games though, one the league cup against Exeter and the other Bolton. He's going to get tougher tests than that to highlight his true colours.

Agree with the other top 5 or 6 though.

i think this thread is a great idea and fair play to you scs for taking the time and effort to compile it.
i have read m'heads post in the spurs ratings thread and i kinda agree with him.
today is the 1st time i have seen a player get a 0 and after the performance today those ratings can be fully justified.
i have noticed this before with other posters embelishing the scores for certain players when it isnt deserved and i do understand its an opinion and how that certain posters view the performance and interpret it with a ranking where 10 means you had a super game and 0 means you were cack.
to get an accurate view of a players performance over the season the scores for each game need to be kinda accurate and where as i havent given anyone a 0 today i have given them what i believe to be what they deserved and that was a low score for all involved.
based on your markings we played well??? .
dont take this as a pop at you but it is important that there is some sort of consistency or else whats the point.

I'm going to revise mine. At first I erred on the side of the scoreline being a reflection of the sendings off. In hindsight I agree now the players themselves with a couple of exceptions were poo.
