Real Madrid are continually 'testing the water' with speculation on signing players to see what kind of response they obtain.
With Rafa,we now have the man who will be on the telephone talking to them in their own language and telling them to stick their over-inflated opinion of thier own importance up a very dark Perez oriface.
Stevie G, will also be taking note that Owen has become a bench warmer at Madrid.
My guess is that Real Madrid will be told by all parties to head off down the road in a 'series of short sharp jerky movements'

Real have their heads so far up their collective ar.ses its unreal.They are a bloated excuse for a club and i pity anyone who supports them.Even the mancs look modest in comparison.Im sure Steve Gerrard would prefer to continue plying his trade at a proper football club.

To think that I used to support them but that of course was when they didn't have players that were full of themselves. Davor Suker was their main striker back then

Come on Guys.. you can't say Real are cr@p.  Ok, they are a right pain in the a$$ but quality everywhere.  There are not many players in world football that would turn them down.  However, I think its time someone played them at there own game.. ie LFC have said they are going to sign Ronaldo and Raul this week as they would look good in the famous red shirt!!!!

Ole' As I predicted. - From today's Daily Mirror, Rafa' has spoken to Madrid and the speculation is off !!

The speculation will continue all season. Real Madrid are by far, the most arrogant sporting organisation on the planet. I really hope they win pisss all this season. Just look at the way they behaved over the Viera transfer. They knew Arsenal's asking price from the word go, spent 2 months leaking stories to the press untill the player has convinced himself he is going and then come in with a derisory offer that never had a chance. That is how they do business and i am sure they will try the same approach with Gerrard.

I'm trying not to worry myself thinking about it. If he keeps playing like this and the team continues to improve then i'm happy. Come the end of the season i believe it will be hard to keep hold of him but Real are fools if they think they will be the only team in for him. I don't believe he will be going anywhere in January, if it happens it will be in the summer.

Don't worry, Rafa not only speaks their language, he knows who and how to speak to them at the right time to cool their rhetoric. I am sure that when push comes to shove we will retain Stevie G. We will be in much better shape come the end of term and will be going forward with confidence, Rafa and Stevie G, arm in arm.

I must admit all this Real Madrid bashing is a bit over the top. I do not like their tactics in the transfer market and their apparent disrespect of other teams, it is total arrogance, however I do love watching them on Sky Sports. They have some amazing players and just reading their team sheet is good fun. Yeah they are run by a bunch of a*seholes but the fact is they play some great football. I remember the victory over Utd a coupla seasons ago in CL, they were amazing in both legs....that first half of the first leg was without doubt the best display of football I have ever seen at any level of the game and a joy to watch.
As for Stevie, well I just pray that he stays, he is totally ireplaceable and if we lose him it is a huge backward step, I wouldn't sell him for £50 million

S.Gerrard is a very special player that doesn't come along very often. When is the last time we have such a player?? We need him and hope he stays. With the young players we have, LFC is going to have its own dynasty for the next decade.
