Alan Shearer amongst others, must feel like crying when they see what Traore has won with Liverpool.

Well the thick b*stard should have joined us then and created the greatest-ever striking partnership with our Robbie.

Imagine that front line.

We'd have won everything going.  :no

I know ! I have often wondered if King Kenny had stayed whether he would have brought Shearer to Anfield.

Apparantly Eveans tried, but when the barcodes offered a World-record transfer, the silly git HAD to go there, really!

I was meaning when Shearer was at Southampton before he went to Blackburn.

ah well, good to see he has signed. don't know what this will mean for warnock and traore though?

It means, time to get rid of Traore! He sucks man. And i think RB knows that, which was why he went out there to get a QUALITY left back.. aurelio is execellent after watching him played a couple of times.

Another striker and a quality right winger and it's game on.

Actually the left side looks a little lopsided compared to the right.

1)Gonzales
2)Kewell
3)Zenden
4)Riise
5)Aurelio
6)Warnock
7)Traore

Aurelio can be a pass master

LIVERPOOL have snapped up a Brazilian free-kick specialist who can pass the ball even better than Xabi Alonso!

The glowing tribute to new left-back Fabio Aurelio came today from boss Rafa Benitez, who has introduced his latest capture at Melwood this week.

The 26-year-old joined the Reds on a four-year deal, after his contract at Valencia - where he spent six years - ended this summer.

Alonso has been ahuge hit at Anfield since Benitez made him his first signing. He is renowned for his passing range and accuracy for both Liverpool and Spain but Benitez believes Aurelio is in the same class as his gifted midfielder.

Benitez, who had Aurelio in his two La Liga winning sides of 2002 and 2004, was thrilled to be reunited with the player.

"Aurelio is a left full back or a left winger with a lot of quality," he declared.

"He can cross the ball superbly and he is maybe a better passer of the ball than Xabi Alonso.

"People will say 'oh really?' But you will see the quality of his crosses and passes with his left foot.

"He is also fantastic at set pieces.

"We will have to wait and see how he adapts to the English Premiership because he is Brazilian, butheis professional and I think he can be a good signing.

"If he has a little bit of luck with injuries he can be a very good player."

Aurelio is one of two new defensive signings unveiled at Melwood this week - along with young centre-half Gabriel Paletta.

"Gabriel is totally different to Fabio," added Benitez

"He is more aggressive, very competitive and is good in the air. I always say he is similar to Carra, but he is a player who will need some time because he needs to improve.

"He also needs to learn the language, buthe can be very good for us."

I was thinking the same.  Rafa's making him sound unbelieveable.  But we all scoffed last summer when Benitez said Sissoko had the potential to be the next Vieira, yet he has basically become an automatic starter for us and surprised everybody with how quickly he settled and how effective he has been.

Well if the hype benitez has brought with that proves to be correct then we have another damn good player on our hands. Our squad just keeps looking better and better, we are becoming a great force, a fantastic squad of players is being built. All of Paletta, gonzalez, aurelio have been really hyped up and im hoping for alot from them, then we hopefully have our RW coming in alves. Then we will just need one more quality striker and i feel we will have a fantastic squad.

I have to agree with Rafa on Aurelio's crosses. I have seen him in Valencia before and he showed that he can whip in really good crosses into the box, this may help Crouch.

and to answer your question lakes10, He rejected Valencia's contract offer.

Without being funny, I somehow doubt he's better at passing than Xabi!

IF he is - we'll have the top 2 passers in world football at LFC!!!!!  :nod
