First law of newkit...anyone complaining about a new thread has already posted the news somewhere else.

I'm delighted, TBPH.  I've had many doubts about Rafa this season but I still feel we are making progress and I want to give him a chance to build on what's been a largely excellent and always educational first season in the title mixer.  Hopefully he's wiser for the experience and we see an even more robust challenge next season.  Until then, I'll settle for another Champions League celebration in Roma. :D

Cheer up, the situation doesn't change that much other than avoiding the risk of Rafa going elsewhere:

This is not old England any more, this is modern football. If Rafa fails miserably to get success to this team, he'll be sacked regardless his contract lenght.

For the first time in 19 years, we've a manager that's been allowed stability and the continuation it will bring with it. The 5 year plan bollox is now history. Make us proud, Rafa.

The final pieces are academic unless Rafa starts sending the team out to hurt teams that set up the proverbial brick wall. If it's something simple for Rafa to fix, let's see if he can fix it. No doubt he's put together a team as good as any, capable of beating the best and that's been proven. No matter what, that can't be debated or taken away from the man. He's built a side capable of greatness. He just has to have a little bit more faith in his team selections to get those 1 nils against lower oppo.

Yeah there is an element of that as well but I do think 1 or 2 areas require beefing up too. No doubt he will get the chance to do that come the summer. Knowing him he will get them sown up quick now that Parry is out the door.
