Well maybe the board refused to sanction one 24 million player but insisted on squad improvement instead. Go back and read my post and you will see I said we have not progressed as far as we should because of administrative reasons (ie Rick Parry) and I think Raffa has made the best of a bad situation (ie no money).

well maybe? so in other words you dont know. Rafa would not manage a club where he was told by directors who he could or could not buy. we;ve just brought poorly, smiple as.

You mean for example; RAFA: 'I want Alves' Parry 'No, theres no money, you can't buy him'.

Well for sure I don't know and neither do you. I am giving Raffa the benefit of the doubt while you with same lack of information chose to blame him. Different philosophy that's all.

So what does Parry do then?

Thanks for that, you just proved my point.  :D

By the way Heinze and Skrtel do not play the same positions. We are still looking for a left back and Skrtel came in due to the injury to Agger.

we were after Henize as an emergancy centre half if required. as it proved it was requried.

4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

We were only two million off our valuation of him. The next year his price had almost doubled. That is bad business and Raffa really wanted him. In that case we needed to come up with the funds as he was quality and underpriced.

I really wanted him.

then Rafa would have left already. if rafa said... i need this player, he would not settle for

"just buy 5 or 6 squad players instead"

in my opinion of course

Its not necessarily the case, the board might easily say we have a budget of £20m, and he needs 3 players, so he has to buy the ones he can. So in this case he has been told NO. Its only really this year that we can honestly see that our first choice players have been bought, money not being an object, in Torres and Mascherano, players regarded by most as World class before we bought them, the paradox being that its during G&H's reign, prior to that we really couldn't do the same, and Rafa had to lower his sights IMO.

so the main reasno we are progressing is not down to rafa, but G&H?

No main reason for me, many reasons. When it comes to G&H they have helped by getting the players that seem to be Rafas first choice this year, but have negated the benefit and some by the uncertainty over Rafas job, and the uncertainty over the Clubs future. I honestly believe that with the same group of players and with Moores still owner we would have challenged this year, we have never been better prepared for it personnel wise. To actually think that the owners fcking about has had no effect is naive at best.( BTW don't know if thats your position Dawson (Cue Innuendo!))

i think theres about 100 reasons we didnt compete as well as we could have

a: unrest with board - parry being a complete n jockey, hicks and gillette clueless
b: rafa prioritising the CL
c: again not having the right players

hoping this can all be sorted over the summer and if things go right for us i can see next season being stunning.. all depends what happens upstairs

im soooooooo god damn sick of the negativity in this thread.........

FFS

get behind RAFA
we are progressing and we will get even better

Image

look at that pic above...

if we can field a reserve team to beat a premier league team away from home then we are progressing...

if we have quality like lucas and plessis coming through the team just like manure had giggs come up thru their youth team then we are progressing

these players are good tooo so we are progressing...

if we can have the reserves win the league and have those players being given game time in the 1st team of premier league competition then we are progressing..

sure fulham are in relegation territory but our lads albeit as some say our reserves team our lads still did the business - they kept their heads and were committed and concentrated on getting the win for the fans and to keep the club progressing....

if we are 8 points clear of 5th place almost certain to qualify for next season champions league then we are progressing

We will have more points than last season in the league .... We have already equalled last season's points tally of 69 and head into the familiar territory of a Champions League Semi Final in good shape so we are progressing

ive had enough of these RAFA knockers sure he has made mistakes and the endless rotation has made me ill but RAFA will make us better and we will have a serious challenge for the title aswell as the other cups that we at liverpool are so used to...

it will happen..... it will happen.... dream..believe....achieve
