Still, plenty of clubs would have caved in in our position, especially once the media got going with their phantom unveilings and hotlines to close family members etc. FSG stood up to a lot of pressure, they did extremely well.

Barcelona bid wasnt high enough if they offer £120m up front I think he would have gone already.

Exactly.

FSG arn't perfect - far from it - but they could have easily have used this as an excuse to flog Coutinho to the highest bidder. Let's hope this is the end of it...at least until next summer  :suspect:

I think he will be back for the City game. usually he always performs against City so it would be great if he starts then.

So its a bug thats keeping Couts out now, well as long as his back has healed. :D

Some fella from Sky Sports is apparently saying Coutinho is more determined than ever to leave and Barca are going to put in one last £138m offer.
I hope FSG tell them where to go, they have been fvcking around with us all window, they can effin' do one.

It's become a point of principle now, we can't cave in to them the way they have acted. Giving us final ultimatums then returning a few days later, they are literally taking the pi[ss] out of us.

As a matter of principle we should never sell another player to them ever again.

Disgusting club, that is literally imploding at the moment with so many players reportedly wanting to leave.

Just tell to f**k off with any other offers, we need to get on with our season and stop wasting so much time/energy on these clowns.  :no

Well this comes as a major shock lads !! These arrogant fkrs will do anything to get what they want. Frankly if they offered £130m single immediate payment with no idiotic add ons then we should take it. Coutinho and his advisers have come out of this looking horrendous. I doubt very much that Coutinho  is injured and to be honest the lad has gone down massively in my opinion.Mind you we want to buy Van Dyk  and his behaviour has probably been even worse. I seem to remember that Lallana's behaviour was questionable when he forced through his transfer from Southampton. Nothing changes lads they are all just a bunch of greedy fkrs. What ever happened to the Sami Hyypia's of this world?   :(

Yeah given that Sky Sports have a direct hotline to someone in Phil's entourage you'd tend to think that if there was anything in this story then they wouldn't be quoting a spurious Spanish source.
On the other hand it has got Barcelona's fingerprints all over it (eve of a big game etc), Barca and Real like leaving things to the last minute so it wouldn't surprise me if one last big bid came in.
No matter what they offer we need to tell them where to go, this has become more than a transfer wrangle now, pride is at stake here as well, caving in now would make the club look like a friggin joke.

Yakka sorry I don't agree. Everybody has a price and if Barcelona want to use £138m of the Neymar money to buy Coutinho in the same way as we did with Carroll when we sold Torres then we are the winners financially. To be frank Coutinho is not in the same class as Neymar. If we sell Coutinho I wouldn't see £138m as caving in. I would see it as some very gutsy negotiating. Let's face it the way Coutinho is behaving hasn't actually done us any favours in terms of credibility. Bad back my ar.se !!!
