Your strongest line up still includes Alan Ball and Bob Latchford.

Roy said we will see alot of him. (Jovanovic)
Be interesting to see where he`s going to play. Left side of a forward 3 or left side of a 451 would be perfect for him.

I think I kinda like that Fauxy... I would wanna play both Aquilani and Cole too. Only thing is if LB is a stumbling block, we could play Agger there for a moment and Skrtel and Carragher as CB's...

Me too.

If Masch leaves, I'd be happy to see Lucas slot in there, or play

                                 Reina

   Johnson         Carragher        Agger         Kelly

                    Lucas                 Gerrard

    Maxi                       Aquilani               Cole

                              Torres

My subs would be:

Soto/Skrtel
Ayala/Darby
Lucas/Shelvey
Kuyt
Jovanovic
Pacheco

Of course, we should have a new LB soon, so that'll change...

would anyone be tempted to push Agger a little more forward? he seems very composed on the ball and is quite a threat when he's allowed to make a run into the oppositions half. Then we could have Carra and Skrtel playing together regularly with a sound defensive figure in front of them. It might not be Agger's most suited positions but I know I'd rather trust him there than Lucas.

I'm only suggesting this on the premise that we don't replace Masch by the way and do buy a left back
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

This right here, is the winner.  Although I would replace Carragher with Skrtel.

It's hard to even make a formation without a LB and not playing three CBs, unless you do a Rafa and play players out of position.

Like you I think it best to wait, see when we sign a LB and if we sign a striker, then we have enough to make some kind of formation. At the moment it is putting down likely 1st choices and plug the gaps. Likely 1st choices being Reina, Carra, Agger, Johnson, Mascherano, Kuyt, Gerrard, Cole and Torres so it isn't exactly a game leaving much scope to be different

And all XIs posted so far contain at least seven of nine that I put forward, although of course views on Kuyt and how "past it" Carra are vary so it is inevitable there'd be a little variation. And we may find Mascherano isn't here to play, which reminds me of when Bolton fans were suggesting they would displace us in 4th and had RIVALDO in their combined XI as being better than whichever Liverpool player   Whhhhhhooooooooooooooooooops

So you're not only posting two different "strongest line ups" in the same thread within 24 hours and with no changes in personnel inbetween, you're also playing Gerrard as a striker and Johnson who can't defend as a CB :O ???
