Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

those who say it looks too futuristic, get a grip of yourselves...by 2010 every thing is going to look f**ked up anyway..look at the new generation design of cars, they are pretty wacky  now, we gotta get with the times people :D

lol the stadium design looks magnificant, something out of this world,...the architects who designed it, hats off to them, pioneers of modern arhitecture.

I was under the impression that it will open with 60,000 and over the next 10 years grow to 80,000 but according to Parry they are hoping it will open with a larger capacity then i originally thought.

Parry better not be paying lip service, we need and can easily fill 75k+ every week, and the club has enough power and local support to push through the capacity increase. This is a one time oppurtunity to get the stadium right.

As long as we can get a big crowd in week in week out and the atmosphere is electric like at Anfield i dont care where we play.

A mate of mine reckons it looks like a giant Breville.

And those corners of the stadium are gonna let strange shafts of light in diagonally across the pitch.

For me, whatever it says, it doesn't say football.  ???

I think the design is awesome.  The last design was boring to me.  It was the standard new stadium design am thrilled with the new concept.  Hopefully soon they will have a model and a virtual tour would be fantastic.

what would happen if the club just built it to 75,000+ from the start? what is the city going to do? make them take the seats out?  Is the main issue with too many people with whether the city can handle that much influx on gameday or more just on the rush of people getting to the stadium around the same time?

WHen I saw those open corners it reminded me a little bit like

but that is the only American football stadium that does that. all of our stadiums are bowls, I never knew what seperate stands meant till I started following fottie.

Sue the ar$e of the club. We have to secure planning permission for extra seating for a number of reasons; crowd control, structural reasons, security reasons....

hate to point this out but where the fk is the players tunnel?

please dont say it's in the corner like old trafford.

Maybe the team comes up in an elevator in the centre of the pitch with the Gladiator music playing on the loud speakers? Or maybe the teams have to freefall from 3000 feet and parachute into the ground 007 style, with "America! F*CK YEAH!" from Team America playing as they land?   :nod  :wwww

Have to say, I love the interior as it just looks like a mega-size Anfield as it is now. Outside looks unique, which is what it should be. When football supporters look at it from around the world, it means they will know who it belongs to because of it. I expect a few small changes to these plans when it's finally built. Nice! :buttrock

The council would be able to either stop the buildin work from proceeding or should it get as far as the stadium being finished the council can just turn 'round and say demolish it.

As has been said a few times on here the club could build the ground to 75,000 seats from the off but they would have to wait for not only planning permission but they would have to go through all of the procedures that they had to with the original design.
I think the current planning permission that they are seeking is just the planning committee looking to make sure that although the design has changed the overall project still fits in with the conditions of the original approval.
