Liverpool v middlesbrough - Should we rest the big names?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

In don't have a short momeory and alluded to the fact that we are looking jaded ........

I think we can beat Boro with a second string 11 mainly due to the fact we are playing at home and Boro have racked up the games recently and look bushed !

i agree with both comments, but the difference is.....
chelsea will have to field a strong team to overcome bolton who are seekig 4th spot.

But LFc can rest players for the boro game. i personally would play kewell and smicer, as well as pelle, warnock, alonso, morientes, etc, plus stevie and other key player swill play for prob 60 mins, so we should win, but chelsea still need to win to win the league

I know Kewell was awful for the short period he played against chelsea so I would play warnock from the start and bring Kewell on for the last 30 mins

Dudek
Finnan Pele Carra Traore
Nunez Alonso Gerrard Warnock
          Le Tallec
                  Morientes

bench:
carson
hyypia
Biscan
Kewell
Cisse

Chelsea look as though they are going to make mass changes against Bolton.

Do you remember when they rested almost the entire first 11 agianst Newcastle in the FA Cup becuase they had only 2 days to rest before facing Barcelona. We really should rest some players, and I think we will.

I would have played my full team against Palace last week when we were chasing 4th but I think 4th is well gone now. I'd rest the whole team just to make sure nobody gets injured. Send on the reserves.

on a selfish note i want to see the strongest 11 out there. i'm finally going to get to the match for the first bl.oody time this season and would love to pay tribute to the players who've got to the brink of european glory. sure, being at anfield is the (just) best thing after sex anyway but i'd love to see the main men.

we'll beat boro regardless, obviously.

i have been saying this all season.

all this garbage that managers come out with about tiredness is simply b#llocks. it's an excuse for failure. one things for sure, you won't here them using it when the side is winning. the only players who have played virtually every game this season are carragher and riise.

i tell you what, i'd be tured on £50,000 a week. :glare:

It's better because the opportunity comes around less often.

I think it's still possible to get 4th. If we can get 7 points out of our last 3 which is a tall order but possible i think we could get it. Everton have 4 tough games (fulham away, newcastle at home, arsenal away and bolton away) and might not win any of them.
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Everton still have Newcastle, Bolton & Arsenal (Game in hand) to play, given we have Arsenal away still to play but I thnk 4th is still a reality. As for resting players, there's no need. The year we won the treble we were playing weekend followed by a mid-week game for 3\4 months with no problems. Our boys can cope

Tha Palcae performance was nothing new. We've been cra.pped upon by the likes of Birmingham, Saints and co this season without resting players.

It isn't just about resting the players for the semi, i'm more concerned we will lose someone like Sami, Gerrard or Garcia to an injury.

Ask yourself this - If we played a full strength team against Boro tomorrow and lost JC and Stevie to injury would you still be sat there saying it was right to play them? Bolllox would you.

Too true

                 Dudek
  Josemi  Pelle   Traore Warnock

   Nunez Alonso  Welsh Smicer
             Le tallec
                 Morientes

It would be risky to play our best team ,and knowing our luck some poor sod would get injured, and the rest would do em good.

Kewell should be given a full match, see if he's fit to start tues
