Le tallec sent on loan - Is this a good move ?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I cant say I am impressed with the decision to omit Le Tallec from the first team but Benitez seems like a man who is not afraid to make controversial decisions  albeit  for the benefit of the team .

It seems Anthony had requested to be played more regularly  and Benitez could not give him the assurances he needed to hear ,thus the only viable option open to the club was to loan Le Tallec out until such a period Liverpool could integrate him into the team .

Anthony Le Tallec is a promising talent who in my opinion links up well with Pongolle and his inventive play is what Liverpool have been lacking so his omission is a shock ,but it shows Benitez’s
Intentions for this season  its obvious he considers Anthony to lightweight  to add anything to this seasons game plan

I think on balance the decision was right as guys like Pongolle and Le Tallec need regular football at this stage in their careers.

Perhaps a season on loan elsewhere could work wonders for Le Tallec.....who knows?

Incidentally, allowing for Benitez' comments, it appears that the boss sees him as a forward rather than a midfielder.

With the departure of Cheyrou and the immenent departures of Le Tallec and Diouff, and possibly Diao as well, it is clear that Benitez has a few transfer targets in the midfield area and he is clearing the decks for an arrival or two.

yes, i have to agree that RB sees him as a striker than a midfielder.

Have to say i am quite disappointed though as i think this was the season he could finally show us what he is capable of.

But RB knows best.....

think its a good move...L.T is not quite ready yet and the team need more ready, experienced player at this stage. Expect quality singing guys!

Agreed, ALT is probably best going out on loan for a season. However, I hope that he goes out on loan to a English club, so that he get accustomed to the physical side of our game. Houllier always baffled me when he allowed foreign players like Vignal and Diarra to go on loan to foreign teams. How was this going to get ready for Liverpool? It just meant that they'd have have a settling in period again. Hopefully Benetiz will see this and push ALT towards an English team. Personally, I'd think Crewe would suit him well (a good father figure as coach and trying to play passing football), or if they are too lowly then someone like Palace or Norwich.

I hate being right all the time!

I told u I didnt rate Le Tallec, and it seems Benitez feels the same!

I knew he didnt have enough ability or experience to make it in the LFc first team. Im betting that when his loan spell is up, hell be sold.

Perhaps Benitez should offer Le Tallec to a club in the Scottish Premier League if he wants him to toughen up.....Doing this might also make up his mind as to the boy's quality if he's undecided as surely if Le Tallec is the player he is supposed to be, he'll shine in the SPL

i agree that i hope he stays in the UK simply so we can keep an eye out for him and watch any improvements he makes in his development. we do not need another diarra, loaned out and never seen again.

I wonder whether Rafa will start loaning players to spain instead of france as houllier did. a move to france would be more beneficial for le tallec personally, but surely it would be better to get more english experience if he has a future at anfield.
