He's been excellent so far. Must admit I thought at the time was a decent signing and would be good solid backup. However we seem to have got the Kolo Toure who played for Arsenal and the one who played for City.

At times for City he looked lost and a bit of a liability in some games. He does seem to have a new lease of life here however and seems to enjoy being top dog at the back. Long may it continue. :)

He looked shaky all game, even before the mistake he was flapping in possession, he'd constantly run a few yards with the ball, stop, then hold out his hands out in a panicky fashion as if to say 'where is everyone? I haven't got a pass on' etc.
All that does is invite the opposition to press harder because they know it's working.
I lost count of how many times he hoofed it up the pitch and it would just bobble out for a goal kick at the other end with no player (never mind a Liverpool player) within 30 yards.

I was saying before the game how good he has been since he had to step into the CD role...shut have kept my stupid mouth shut!
It was insane what he did, but these things happen in football. It always ends up a blame game after these howlers so Im going to blame everyone who has supported, played for, managed or owned LFC since the war because its all their fault in some way.

This is true.

Gerrard looked disappointed by then he had no real course for abuse as he did make a habit of assisting Henry when he played for Arsenal.

There is fannying around at the back for a reason and there is fannying around at the back for no reason, something we seem to have been doing quite a few times this season, it was only a matter of time before we got caught out I am suprised it hasnt happened before or there hasnt been more of it.  Lets face it its been a disaster waiting to happen hasnt it?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

True, sometimes the keeper just has to hoof it up field, if they are pressing us and its three on three then Mig should have had the sense not to play it to Kolo in the first place

I'm struggling to attribute any serious blame towards Mignolet. It was a pathetic pass from a professional footballer who is paid one helluva lot of money not to make schoolboy mistakes. I agree with Ciggy that some of the nonsense at the back this season has been poor but even taking that into account I'm not prepared to let Kaolo off the hook for some very sloppy play. If you watch the replays again Kaulo appears to be asking Mign for the ball.

don't get me wrong, Kolo was totally to blame for that error. I was making the point that Mig had it in him to see the number of WB payers pushing up and ignore Kolo and put the ball up field. This obsession with always playing out from the back was going to hurt us one day

When a highly experienced defender asks you for the ball you probably take notice.

I don't think that you guys understand. The manager urges them to play that way even if it meant making a mistake. It's got nothing to do with Toure, never mind Mignolet. Statements such as Reina wouldn't have done this or that are baseless.

are you serious, do you honestly think BR says "always play from the back even if you have three players around you, I know we might lose a few goals but its worth it"'

No I reckon he would rather they use their heads and a bit of common sense

I do agree whole heartedly that Mignolet should make a better decision with regards to the pass as he's facing the play and should see the West Brom players in position. However it was ultimately Toure's f*ck up. Any blame towards the keeper should be very minimal.

At the end of the day, that (or something similar) was always going to happen at some point during the season because of how we play, but I think what happened the other day was a complete freak incident. It wasn't a poor pass to a team mate as such or a basic error, it was simply an empty head moment that anyone can have. It sometimes happens. Toure has proven to be a good signing this season and has put in some good performances and hasn't let us down, so I think to jump on the fella after one bad mistake is a bit harsh.

With regards to the way we play, we should always look to pass out from the back. Good teams always play the ball all over the pitch. We've scored plenty of goals this season through passing it around at the back and it allows us control and allows us to get our better players on the ball.
