welcome aboard Kolo.

A good signing by all accounts, which will give us more expereince in the back line. Still need another new centre back though, so hopefully this is the first of 3-4 major signings.

Not the superstar some will have wanted but will bring that experienced head to our defence that we're now lacking with carragher retiring.

Good move for us I think.

with carragher retiring, wilson leaving, skrtel talking about leaving and coates`s future up in the air i think this is a good signing.
even if we bring in the likes of papadopolous or alderweired it`s still handy to have an experienced campaigner within the squad.
this fella has captained both arsenal and city so he`s obviously a leader.
welcome to the biggest club you`ve ever played for kolo.

Poor signing - our sights should be set higher than someone being released by a top team because he can't do a job at the top level anymore.

he (or anyone else joining us) doesnt need to be the second coming of franz beckenbauer to improve us.
if he can just do the bread and butter basics like head the ball /clear corners etc he will improve us immeasurably.

Head to head against Carra last season, Toure had better stats in almost every category.  Just because he's not capable of starting every week for city (who's players should make them a contender for top 5 clubs in Europe) doesn't mean he can't be on the bench for us.  According to Inter, Coutinho wasn't good enough to be playing for them, the 9th place club in Italy, and yet has lit the PL on fire.

exactly. Our squad lacks depth and experience...Kolo will tick both those boxes, whilst proving invaluable in developing our younger lads.

Could be a good signing. Good physical presence and experience, both of which we lack. Would have reservations about his hunger and am also keen to know how high his wages are.

Does anyone know the length of the contract and the wages we've promised?

I think Toure is a finished material but we'll see what happens.
