Leave Dirk Kuyt alone. I reckon between him and Torres we will be right for goals this year

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Reina prefers to wear the number 25, so i shouldn't expect a change in the keeping department.

Peter Crouch number 10 and Torres number 9. Then our strike force will be wearing numbers 9 and 10. As for Dirk Kuyt if we sold him I would be extremely happy, I just don't rate the lad.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

number 10 will probally go to our next winger we get (quaresma? mancini? benayoun? MGP?....)

Just to be a little different, I reckon Dirk should wear the No 9 as he played alongside Robbie a few times and there's a sort of continuity about it..... The 'star player' if that's what Torres is gonna be, should wear the 10.....

Why don't we use the number "zero?"

I remember Damon Hill used it for Williams back in the day.

Like Lando I remember reading something saying that Reina's favourite number is 25 so he may not change to 1. Which raises the question, Who will our number 1 be? I fecking hope we don't do something stupid like Arsenal or the chavs have done (given defenders strikers numbers) and give it to an out field player. :no  Is Carson worthy of it? or would it be right giving it to a keeper whose not (or ever has been) considered the first choice keeper?

Looking at the squad I can only really see the no.10 shirt going to a new signing as there isn't really anyone within the squad who I can see it going to. We may also be seeing a new no.11 if/when Gonzalez goes. I wonder whether they'd bother changing Masha's number considering he's only on loan currently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricardo_Quaresma

Browse it. Surprisingly you can see he is wearing jersey no.10 for us. :D

becuase 'zero' is not a number, but the absence of a number.

(i have no idea actually, but it sounds intellectual.  :D  )

Olympiakos did it. Kafes, their captain wore number 1 as a central midfielder. It looked a little strange to say the least.

Why does it matter who gets what number, it's what the player does on the pitch rather than what number he is wearing because if the number made any difference to a player's ability Liverpool's special number which is 7, would be worn by players who are special and rare talents not Harry Kewell and before that Vladimir Smicer.

he did indeed, but that was due to the previous years champion retiring and as such the number 1 is not used, instead the number 0 is given to the replacement driver, which was damon hill :)

back to the footy then.....
